Subject: Lyr Req: The Man With Three Balls From: GUEST,Ray Date: 13 Aug 11 - 09:41 AM Does anyone remember this song, which I last heard sometime in the 70s? No Idea who wrote it. Can't remember who sung it. But it was about a woman going into a bookshop looking for a book on "pornography" for her husband. Turns out he was a pawn-broker - hence the title. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Man With Three Balls From: gnomad Date: 14 Aug 11 - 06:42 AM GUESTRay; I think the tune is that of The Waterford Boys. I know it as the Librarian's Song, a nice daft song that I only sing very occasionally. Sadly I never got to see my Dad's reaction to it, though I think he would have liked it, particularly the intro. He was a librarian whose pet bugbear was the line "I'm looking for a book." They had 13 floors of those (and a big basement of microfilm) and he looked for a bit more clarity from the 'academics' he was trying to serve. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Man With Three Balls From: Girl Friday Date: 14 Aug 11 - 08:37 AM Words by John Conolly - who was a librarian. I heard it sung by Martin Young (Martin Long) from Faversham |
