Just viewed the photos of the new terminal building. It looks super Bonzo. The Spanish do have excellent design ideas. Madrid airport is phenomenal too. I suppose SOME folk aren't interested in travel, but I certainly am. (I used to adore funny old Tripoli airport, but I suppose it's ruined now!)

I think they generally fly to there from Argentina and other breeding centres in specially converted planes - and I should think they are better behaved than some of the sludge we witnessed at Gatwick!!!

Never been to Tripoli - not much chance of that in the forseeable future!!

If you're a business traveler making half a dozen or more flights a week, let me assure you that the "looks" of a terminal building doesn't matter a rat's ass. Efficiency and facilities such as Airline hospitality areas does. O'Hare is a pretty place but Hartsfield is a better airport and much as I hate to say it, DFW beats them both.

And before anyone jumps on me about AC takin the piss in that joke, been there, didn't care for it. Never been on AC international but I hope it's better than the domestic service I encountered many times in the 70s to 90s.

It's true about looks not mattering regarding an airport. That's why I used to like Tripoli ( hub of Afriqiyah airline ) It had character, and the staff were supremely kind and helpful. Also quite exotic, the women wore veils, some in GLOVES (in that heat!) so no-one could see their hands. Poor things, I suppose the buildings are in a sad state now, and Afriqiyah no longer flies.
I've flown to Alicante long ago, but don't remember much about it.
The London airports are dire:- disinterested staff, a feeling of danger and distrust, not enough places to sit etc etc. I generally head for the Chapel! (To pray for patience!)

Well, dumb-dumb me, being so provincial as to having never flown out of the country, would have appreciated a link, etc. in the first post, esp. as the OP was hoping for positive responses.:-) I can only guess the location is Spain and there must be pix. I guess I could google it, but it would be nice if folks weren't so circumspect in their postings. Some of us may not have a clue as to where it is. But, there ya go...I can always learn something new at mudcat!

We found staff at Alicante Airport extremely helpful. In fact the lady on the Monarch Airlines fast bag drop desk looked very much like Nanci Griffith, and we told her so. We saw her again as we boarded the aircraft, and she was over the moon (a blue moon of course!!) having checked out Nanci Griffith on the internet.

Likewise in the VIP lounge and obligatory (for my wife) duty free area.
