Scientists at Penn State College of Medicine Discover Virus That Kills All Types of Breast Cancer Within 7 Days

Taken from the link above, in case anyone has trouble opening it:

>>>"Scientists at the Penn State College of Medicine said this week they have discovered a virus that is capable of killing all types of breast cancer "within seven days" of first introduction in a laboratory setting.

The virus, known as adeno-associated virus type 2 (AAV2), is naturally occurring and carried by up to 80 percent of humans, but it does not cause any disease.

Researchers learned of its cancer-killing properties in 2005, after Penn State scientists observed it killing cervical cancer cells. They also found that women who carried the AAV2 virus and human papillomavirus (HPV), which causes cervical cancer, had a lower propensity to develop cervical cancer.

When combined in a lab recently, AAV2 eradicated all the breast cancer cells "within seven days," according to researchers. Better still, it proved capable of wiping out cancer cells at multiple stages, negating the need for differing treatments used today.

"If we can determine which viral genes are being used, we may be able to introduce those genes into a [therapy]," explained Penn State research associate Samina Alam. "If we can determine which pathways the virus is triggering, we can then screen new drugs that target those pathways. Or we may simply be able to use the virus itself....".<<<<

It must be kept in mind that just because something works in vitro does not necessarily mean that it will work the same in vivo. Nevertheless any new knowledge brings us one step closer to a possible cure.

There is a cure for all cancers... developed in Halifax, NS. Only problem is, even tho the cure was found during research funded by the Federal government and sure therefore have been persued on the basis of being able to deliver it for free, a large drug company was engaged to research how to bring it into production and charge BIG money for it.

It's in an old thread.

And it's so very sad.

Although it's not too obvious, a link in the article linked goes to the Penn State original news release at:

Virus kills breast cancer cells in laboratory

The University's note doesn't say a whole lot more, but provides a slightly more complete explanation (partly by implication) of what will be required to apply the discovery usefully.

The Uni's release also omits the lovely picture, which might be appropriate if one wants to forward the news to "certain people" of rather rare sensibilities(?). (Although I can't think of why anyone should be offended, I do know a couple who might be.)

This may be the company to which you are referring. If so, from what I have been able to gather from their website is that they have developed some vaccines that have shown some cancer fighting properties in mouse models and are now in the process of conducting clinical trials in humans.

Hmm.

Well, my thoughts are this: Any person or company that has the ability to CURE cancer or PREVENT it from EVER happening in the first place and does NOT share it is going straight to HELL. I bet Bobert would be the lead escort and I'd be bringing up the rear (course then we'd travel back and have ourselves a good ole time).

I wonder what the CEOs of such companies will do when they hear the words, "You have cancer." "Your spouse has cancer." "Your mother has cancer." "Your child has cancer."

All those green pieces of paper called money don't mean SHIT when you or someone you love gets sick.

*regaining my composure and am off to can some pears.*

HMPH.

Well, as far as "Well, my thoughts are this: Any person or company that has the ability to CURE cancer or PREVENT it from EVER happening in the first place and does NOT share it is going straight to HELL."... ya got that wrong... they are going straight to the bank.

Not news. BUT what really pisses me off is that the Halifax study was funded by taxpayer dollars and, as such, should remain the property of the taxpayers.

As for the CEOs... the money they have in the bank will ensure they needn't worry.

And, as for "HMPH", well... I got a few others I would use. I think the bastards should be beaten senseless for their greed.

*big breath*

Trying to think nice things. Trying to think nice things. Trying to not say something hateful. Biting my tongue. Not saying anything hateful. Nope. Not gonna. Not gonna. Not gonna. Want to, but won't.

Richard... also under Brit common law... if the taxpayer funded the research, the taxpayer has the rights to the research and any proceeds from the exploitation thereof. Not the big drug companies. Fact is, someone in government... politicians, public servants... are getting rich off of what should be a PUBLIC "enterprise". There is NO need to do otherwise. It's all about greed and it's absolutely sickening. ONE injection can CURE many cancers? It's beyond reality.

But, it's been removed from You Tube and from the original reporting news agency. I guess we'll have to wait and see what what Walmart charges?
