Subject: RE: BS: Amazing Penguin Cat Discovered From: Charley Noble Date: 31 Dec 11 - 10:16 PM LadyJean- Some cats love water, including our resident Maine coon-cat. Tigers love to swim in it as well. Cheerily, Charley Noble |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing Penguin Cat Discovered From: JohnInKansas Date: 01 Jan 12 - 01:28 AM Worth1000 2d Chance should take you to the site where these entries are posted. The dogfish is right at the top, but the pengcat is w.a.a.a.a.y down at the bottom of the page, but clicking on the pengcat pulls up the single image at pengcat. These shorter links may (or may not) work better without going through the google link leader in the original link. The Worth1000 site has a well known reputation for its "contest" postings, with one of the best known being the "Scary Signs" series from a few years back, with a half-dozen separate contest series in that category (probably still) on the site. The proliferation of separate contests/series on the site has made it lots harder to find the one picture you want, but it's still a real fun place for wasting some time. John |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing Penguin Cat Discovered From: Charley Noble Date: 01 Jan 12 - 10:08 AM John- An excellent way of explaining why some may have problems with the initial "extended" link posted above. Thanks! I also find it a fascinating website, with some very creative people participating. Cheerily, Charley Noble |

Subject: RE: BS: Amazing Penguin Cat Discovered From: JohnInKansas Date: 01 Jan 12 - 04:34 PM Charley - When I first found the Worth site via a link to Scary Signs (I think it was about the third or fourth in that series at the time) it was easy to go back and look for one I might want to link to, to illustrate a point. By the time I really wanted a particular sign, the site had grown to the point where it began to be difficult just to find the right series of contests. It's become an interesting maze of cleverness and artistry, and almost impossible even to explore without getting lost. I've had problems with the Google links a few times, but usually if you go to the site after Google tells you where it is, a direct link is a little more reliable. For text seaches you usually can just click on a "remove frame" button, but that feature doesn't appear in image search results. As always, it takes a little time and effort to "do it a little better," so trying the Google search URL first usually works for most. I don't mind doing a small rework for someone who reports a problem, if the complaint seems reasonable; but usually it's pretty hard to tell why a link works for most but not for the few. I don't often bother looking for a reason, since an alternate link is simple (usually). John |
