Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: billybob Date: 08 Aug 14 - 02:49 PM Happy belated Birthday Maeve xxx It was Billy's Birthday yesterday, we will celebrate with family and friends on Sunday. I had this brilliant (?) idea to make a cake like a garden shed . Well over here a man's shed is his castle and Billy's shed is the envy of his male friends, it has a bar, fridge and cosy chair and CD player. I too have a shed by the swimming pool. I call it " Greece" it is painted blue and green, has silk vine leaves in the roof and plastic grapes, a real olive tree in a pot, Greek pottery and a phrase book and Greek music on the CD player, Oh well what are dreams made of? I digress, this shed cake? Two square Victoria sponges upright and filled with raspberry jam and cream, covered with roll out icing ( I cheat ) cardboard door with Bill's Shed written on door. Roof tiles made of chocolate and the wooden plank look perfect with blue icing colouring painted on. It looks brilliant in my mind, photos on FB if it works !So off to the kitchen... Meanwhile I am smiling ear to ear as for the first time in weeks mother has eaten a whole dinner. After weeks of not swallowing or chewing what ever I put in front of her, cannot tell how many tears I have shed. I have found a company that make pureed meals so tonight she had pureed chicken ,potato and broccoli and had a clean plate! I could put the flags out! Sailing on much love to all Wendy xxxxxxxxxxxxx |
Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Amergin Date: 08 Aug 14 - 02:02 AM I know last time I posted, I said I was having a rough time....and well, while there are still holes in my heart, I am doing much better....got a few gigs coming up (a couple at least involve travel), and new job...some poems published....I'm happier than I've been in months. I hope you all are doing well....and if not that things are going to get better....so let me blow some of my hot wind from my expansive arse to keep those sails up! ;) Or maybe I will just blow into the canvas. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: Janie Date: 06 Aug 14 - 08:07 PM I am way behind and apologize for that. So very sorry, dear gnu. Holding all who need held, pete. Hope the seas are not too rough, but we are here, no matter what. Happy Birthday to our dear maeve! I'd start a birthday thread, but not sure you would be comfortable with that. You can be assured that if one were started it would be filled with good hopes and wishes for one of the kindest and most caring among the Mudcat tribe. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: gnu Date: 05 Aug 14 - 07:22 PM Uncle Bill got shell shocked in WW1. Minded me of Vimy Ridge. I posted this on another thread. I lost my business over this crap. I hope it is heeded herein... Cell phones suck, and my cousin, who was a trucker and used his cell all day on the highway, may not see Xmas. He has been battling a brain tumour for about 4 years. Chemo up the arse... one batch was from Switzerland and he got it because cousin Moira's husband is Dr. Gruber at the NY State School of Medicine. Blue Cross wouldn't pay the $26K unless 4 docs in Moncton said he needed it and they bowed to Gruber on it. Long story short... Rodass (Rodney) is going to die. From a fuckin cell phone. Ahhhh shit... tears cometh again. Sorry for the drama. Just put the cell down and walk away. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: GUEST,pete from seven stars link Date: 30 Jul 14 - 01:16 PM been an interesting [ probably not the right word ]day. we took in a toddler at 3 am as an emergency placement who was collected later in the morning to go to her mum, after being taken from the dad. hopefully she did.nt catch anything here as we caught a bug. tommy got it bad but is recovered now. there is difficult stuff in our wider family, but I don't think becky would want me to go into detail, and I think that's wise, but anyone a prayer to spare, thanks. blessings pete. |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: gnu Date: 28 Jul 14 - 10:50 AM Subject: CATSPAW's Memorial Picnic From: Big Mick - PM Date: 28 Jul 14 - 10:41 AM Dave. Swan and I spent a lovely afternoon with CATSPAW's family telling stories, playing some music, eating wonderful food, and sharing rememberances of Patrick F. "Spaw" Paaterson. We gathered with Connie and Wayne, Karen, Michael, & Tristan, and the family. I restrung a bunch of instruments and Dave and I sang songs in memory of our friend. We also commiserated with one another as to how Rick and Spaw were eating up all the billable hours at LFPS, Layabouts at Large and for hire. As I was stringing instruments, Karen sat down and told Dave and I she wanted us each to have one of Spaws guitars. To say we were shocked takes understatement to a new level. What an honor. Dave has a great story I have asked him to share. I am sure he will post it here and on our Mudcat. Dave is getting on a plane in a bit and I am jumping in the car for the 5.5 hour drive home. What a wonderful day, thanks to Karen, Michael, Tristan, Connie, Wayne and the rest of the family for a wonderful and memorable day! |

Subject: RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort From: gnu Date: 27 Jul 14 - 12:57 PM Odd that this happened by chance today. I was sending out a broadcast email only for my Canuck friends. I was removing all others and when I saw Spaw was still on this particular list, I had a twinge. Then I edited my contacts. I highlighted Spaw, hit delete and sat crying all over again. A lot of people miss him and my thoughts echo Janie. |
