Compulsory viewing I think. Panorama investigates poverty, child poverty, and homelessness in the USA.

Obama may want to run this as a campaign vid soon enough, and the fundy hard right should hang their heads in shame - I expect.

I would imagine given the number of times it has been censured for political bias Richard that anything shown on BBC would have "the fundy hard right should hang their heads in shame".

The obvious and extreme attempts by the programme to give a fair treatment to the lunatic right made it all the more damning in my eyes.

Horrifying and saddening. One can barely credit that Americans can be living like this. Particularly heart-wrenching to see the man who had a serious hernia, threatening gangrene, yet no operation could be offered as it would cost $20,000. He was pitifully carrying on working to support his family, in terrible pain and distress. Also, even dentistry was unavailable to the poor. Third World?

I don't know how those right wing politicians can sleep. I end up thinking of the King of Sicily who was replaced by an angel until he saw the error of his ways. Except of course that he wasn't, but people thought he should be.

In those days, those people got to the top by being born in ruling families, and perhaps originally by being the bullies who fought their way to the top. How do they get there now they have to have votes?

One've the topics was about the 'Arab Spring' focussing on Egypt & progress made so far

Perhaps a similar uprising could happen in America, land of the free huddled masses?
