Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: Bobert Date: 14 Jun 12 - 03:05 PM Well, I donno... I don't eat no bacon, period, but I'd think if I did I don't believe it would mix too well with ice cream... But the folks at Burger King seem to think so??? B |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: Ed T Date: 14 Jun 12 - 03:12 PM At least it is real bacon, and not the simulated stuff. Canadian Bacon may be even better:) |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: Highlandman Date: 14 Jun 12 - 04:41 PM Saw a guy once order a sundae and an order of fries, then proceed to arrange the fries neatly around the rim of the sundae ... sticking up like papaya slices or whatever. Then sprinkled salt over the whole thing and ate it. But bacon beats that all hollow. YuuuUUUUCK~! -Glenn |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 14 Jun 12 - 11:30 PM So, I wonder if Burger Kings in largely Jewish neighborhoods will be able to substitute lox or corned beef for bacon? |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: ranger1 Date: 15 Jun 12 - 09:03 AM Well, I like maple syrup (the real stuff, not that corn syrup crap) drizzled over my bacon. Not too much of a stretch to substitute ice cream... |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: Highlandman Date: 15 Jun 12 - 10:01 AM I like salt on watermelon. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: frogprince Date: 15 Jun 12 - 10:22 AM As for sweet and salty, there is "sweet and salty" ice cream available in town, and it's not bad at all. Still not sure whether I can make myself try the sundae though. Don't let there be any cold bacon fat in there, and let the bacon be really crisp, so you're not chewing a cold strip after the ice cream is gone from your mouth. I just dunno. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: ClaireBear Date: 15 Jun 12 - 11:22 AM I took my son to Burger King and he tested it for all of us. (I would have done it myself, but I'm trying to rediscover my girlish figure, which got left in the dust 40 years ago). He said he expected it to be a little weird, but it was in fact EPIC!!! (That's a good thing, so I understand.) Soft serve ice cream, chocolate AND caramel sauces and crumbled bacon, with a half-slice added for garniture. Of course, he's a 12-year-old...but he has a pretty good palate, I think. Make of that what you will. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: Stringsinger Date: 15 Jun 12 - 04:36 PM What we need in the US today is more overweight people who are addicted to Burger King. We might reinstitute Roman Vomitoriums. We might all be annihilated by one giant belch or something from the opposite direction. Bacon sundaes are the most disgusting idea ever perpetrated on an ever consuming American public. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bacon & Ice Cream Sundaes... From: gnomad Date: 15 Jun 12 - 05:48 PM Exits from burger bars could certainly be made larger, but I suspect that isn't the intention of the suggestion. You may be interested in this link Vomitorium. Quite agree that bacon flavour ice-cream sounds to me like a bad idea; the ruination of two good foods by consuming them together. I like some combinations which others view with suspicion, cheese with apple pie, or fruitcake, or jam, are all good. So is treacle with Yorkshire pudding. I'll skip the bacon ice-cream, thank you (and Heston Blumenthal's scrambled egg variety merely confirms what I felt on hearing of his snail porridge; the man needs 'help') |
