Men have been both the bane and the salvation of my life. Both the violating abusers and the loving supporters.

I think men were born with more challenges than many women may give them credit for, including sexual, violent and dominator instincts.

That's not to say I accept that the kinds of violent abuses against women that we see both here and abroad are in any way right or 'natural', but that considering both the biological impulses they are born with and the cultural conditions they are also often born within, enlightened, sensitive men are a real treasure.

And considering the contexts from which they often arise, I'm also amazed by the amount of men that I'm able to treasure.

The stereotypically fierce mother-love we accept is one thing but the male urge to protect everyone - testosterone enhanced with adrenalin - is a fierce beast indeed. Here's what I've decided. Men are more bi-modal than women. Most men are average, of course. But there's a group of men who are very good, and there's another group that's very bad. Both kinds make the news.

Far more men build skyscrapers and pioneer heart surgeries.
Far more men kill others and start wars. Read any newspaper and see.

Women, meanwhile, tend to be brave and quiet and hold things together. They pick up the pieces the men leave behind. They don't make the news.

However, when I hear about transgender males who wish with all their hearts they were female, I understand completely. What male wouldn't want to switch, really?

Yup. It's an individual thing, and that's all there is to it. Consider, for example, the trans-species thing, the significant number of humans out there who very much want to become Chimpanzees. I have personally known several humans of either gender who are longing to free their "inner Chimp" and alter their species, but who have no recourse to do so, because the modern medical establishment has refused to do any research or experimentation in that direction. Why? Rank prejudice, that's why! How many Chimp physicians will you find at the Mayo Clinic? Whaddya think? None, that's how many! It's a disgrace. Some of my dearest friends are humans who would choose to become Chimps (or in one case, a Gorilla), but they can't, because no doctor in America will help them.

This is another thing I'm gonna change when I become president. Trans-species operations will no longer be suppressed, trans-species individuals will no longer be denied membership in community service organizations, etc.

Individuals of indeterminate species...such as Bobertz...will be tolerated, but watched closely.
