Subject: RE: Tech: help! password From: JohnInKansas Date: 10 Mar 13 - 07:07 PM The ordinary rule is that Joe can only send a password to the email address you used when you set up the existing password. If you have changed your email address you probably won't get the email Joe sent at your new address. (Some account transfers allow forwarding, but it's usually for a limited - unspecified - time.) An email to Joe that gives the address used when the username was registered, and the current address you use to receive your mail, with sufficient information to assure that you are the same you, is almost certain to get a useful response more quickly than just one that says "Hey, Joe, Save My %#$!&! Ass" without an explanation or a little help for Joe. This may not be the cause for the current problem, but we've been told that it happens often enough to merit an occasional reminder. (It should also be noted that Joe has requested that any email related to mudcat MUST HAVE "MUDCAT" SOMEWHERE IN THE SUBJECT for him not to miss it in all the other email he gets from his hordes of admirers ... and a few others.) Of course if you've done everything right, it could just be that he's been out of touch for a a while. If so, consider the reminders as intended for the "them" who might drop in on the thread. John |

Subject: RE: Tech: help! password From: Joe Offer Date: 10 Mar 13 - 10:42 PM Hi, folks- That blankety-blank password sender rarely works. Sorry for the delay. I had a heavy-duty day of singing and drinking "Arrogant Bastard" Ale. Good stuff. Good music, too. Gutcher should be all set. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Tech: help! password From: Joe Offer Date: 11 Mar 13 - 01:01 AM Dick Holdstock showed up at song circle today. He's an amazing performer. I've sometimes wondered about his singing. He seems to be singing right to me, and I wondered if other people had the feeling. Today I found out - he says he really enjoys singing when I'm there, because I so obviously enjoy the songs he sings. Dick's singing partner Allan MacLeod almost always comes to our monthly Sunday session. Allan has one of the most beautiful male voices I've ever heard, and he's one of the nicest and most interesting people I know. But it's a real treat when Dick comes, because he milks every bit of meaning and humor out of every verse. Follow the link. You need to hear them. And hey, I'm proud to call them friends. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Tech: help! password From: Gutcher Date: 11 Mar 13 - 06:53 AM Thanks all. It turns out that my password is that which I entered originally. Must be fairies at the bottom of my garden or something to do with the old Scottish believe that elfs lived under human habitations. |
