This request was in a thread with a generic name, so I thought I'd transfer it over and see if we might have better luck with a specific thread title.

There is a song containing this line:

"There's an old fashioned misses giving old fashioned kisses."

I would like to find the lyrics and the tune.

Andy, If you put th line from the song in the thread title, you're likely to get more people interested in the thread.

Personaly I don't have a clue about the song.

Good luck, though!

Magpie

I'm an old guy (older every day) and I've been looking for these too---(as many as I can get)!!!

Yeah, I may be old, but I'm not dead.

I found these lines quoted in a novel, The Pride of Palomar by Peter Bernard Kyne (New York: Cosmopolitan Book Company, 1921), page 241:

I saw an old-fashioned missus,
Taking old-fashioned kisses,
In an old-fashioned garden.
From an old-fashioned beau.

Nowadays, the song is easy to find: "Old Fashioned Garden" by Cole Porter, 1919. A quick googling and utubing yields a page of sheet music and one of probably many YouTubes. Old-fashioned indeed.

From the sheet music at The Archive of Popular Music at UCLA:

OLD FASHIONED GARDEN (Duet)
Words and music by Cole Porter
New York: Harms Inc., 1919.

One summer day I chanced to stray
To a garden of flow'rs blooming wild,
It took me once more To the days of yore
And a spot that I loved as a child;
There were phlox, tall hollyhocks,
Violets perfuming the air,
Frail eglantines, shy columbines,
And marigolds everywhere.

CHORUS: It was an old fashioned garden
Just an old fashioned garden
But it carried me back
To that dear little shack
In the land of long ago.
I saw an old fashioned Missus
Getting old fashioned kisses
In that old fashioned garden
From an old fashioned beau.
