Last year this time I thought that Carolina needed to spend big money on a top corner back. But look how the D drops off when they are out. Much better to have lots of good fast players and rotate them.

They called a lot of stuff on Carolina that is not even considered "chippy" while Boldin was allowed to head butt after the plays. I'd like to see it called right. For instance Seattle gets away with too much. But if you don't call it right, call it the same for both.

I seem to remember saying that the chippy shit ruined watching the game for me. Fact is, the refs have a hard time to see it all and to call it all due to the "hey, it's playoff football... let em play". It sucks.

Not certified but the guy (a Mudcatter) that got it for me saying it is because Tom is his buddy is all I need to feel like a kid. I never "got" autographs and such until this jersey arrived in the mail. Seriously... who cares, right? Well, I'll be damned if I didn't put it on and drive all over town and do a seductive striptease taking off my parka to slowly reveal the jersey in front of my buddies to show them such a treasure! Childish? You bet. I am actually somewhat ashamed. But, now, I get this "autograph" thing to a certain extent.

I don't think it will be so much about scoring first as to whose style of play dominates. If it is a low scoring game with lots of running, I think New England will dominate. If it is a shootout, all of the sane money will be on Denver. It will probably be in between and be a great game. Denver has three pretty good backs and we all know Brady can throw.

I'll be happy if Manning wins, happier if its Brady and over joyed if the winner can beat the SeaHawks or Niners. Sorry west coast fans, But I and sick and tired of hearing how good those guys were all year.

They are good but not that good. The Cards, The Panthers and others showed this year that they can be defeated. Maybe Wilson or Kaep can lead their team to the Promised Land. But this year my bet is on a wily vet. :-)

I used to love watching Elway sling that sucker sidearm/softball style. As for the upcoming game, I think it's about who can score first and then about defense. I will cheer for the Pats but I won't be sad or pissed off if they lose. I just want good clean play and officiating on both sides of the ball. I am puttin on my lucky jersey for this one.

A point I would make about the Broncos is that before Manning came on board, they were so good that they could win in the playoffs without any NFL talent at the QB position. And they did.

Can they then beat the Seahawks? I'd say they have a better chance than with the Broncos. Why? Brady? Blout? Mymandola? Any other player? Nope. Head coach... the master of the game on the gridirons today hands down in my books. Players win games. Coaches win championships.

Yeah, I think that Seattle matches up extremely well against SF and their secondary won't be upset by the trash talk and chippiness.

Keeping in mind the Panthers were relying undrafted rookies and castoffs from other teams in the secondary. They played their hearts out all yeah but lack of experience did them in.

Richard Sherman will give Boldin all the trash he can handle and a few measures beyond that.

But I think that New England can beat the Broncos especially if the weather is bad. LaBlont can keep Manning off the field and Brady and his guys can score on them as easily as Rivers and Allen did.

I think Seattle will win decisively but I give a slight edge to Brady unless the Broncos play a lot better, a lot better than they did against Sand Diego.

It was a joy to watch Philip Rivers lose it and yell at his own teammates, and throw the ball on the ground. I especially enjoyed watching him standing on the sidelines with his helmet on like he's going to go back in as the clock wound down under 2 minutes.

The Broncos will have to play offense the entire game against Brady to have a chance though, not only half of the game as they did today.

I'll predict a Denver-Seattle Super Bowl though. And I think Seattle's Defense gives them a slight edge

The weather looks good and the Denver defense seems to be making a play of two. It looks really good for Peyton but I'd rather Rivers won. On the other hand, if that happens, I won't get to see Manning vs Brady.
