FFS= Fugitive from Sanity" - he is barking mad.

Right. Two simple things.   Maybe even Ding-dong and FFS can understand.

1. A proper NHS or even a single payer solution ( a la Kucinich - a sensible man) was not a possible solution.

Remember - "politics, the art of the possible"?

2. The alternative, at the time, to discussing a compromise on unemployment benefit was another shutdown.

WHICH BIT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? THE PROBLEM IS NOT OBAMA. IT IS THE REPUBLICAN AND TEA-POTTY WANKERS WHO WOULD RATHER DESTROY THE UNION THAN LET ANYTHING >ANYTHING< HE PROPOSES PASS.

Just like you two morons.

I know!..You're the ONLY one who knows what is good for us all, and just to stubborn to let us all in on it!...because it's too good for us, and we just can't understand that!

Firth: "Goofus, your so-called analysis of the political situation and what you assume is my view of it is so off the mark it verges on the asinine."

Only going by what you've said your position was....even put what you've said in quotation marks.

Firth: "You are merely revealing how little you really understand of what's happening."

What do YOU think is Really happening, then?

Firth: "I haven't the time to educate you and it would be a futile attempt anyway."

Perhaps you could explain it to ANYONE out there, in 'Mudcat-land', perhaps you could 'enlighten' them...because as it looks now, you've been busted bigger than shit!

Firth: "Why don't you just drop it and go play your ukulele for awhile?"

Piano..And there is a major (and rather prestigious) ballet company expressing interest in one piece in particular....actually I thought that ironic, because I never thought of it as a piece for ballet.

Go ahead...give us all the 'big picture'....See if you can do it, without resorting to biased misinformation....Oh, and does it include more deception....or freedom and liberty for all under a true Democracy?...Does it include 'We the People' having a say in it?...or MORE crony capital corruption?

Correction:(typo)

What I posted as: "At the very best, it was a shoddy attempt at cronyism....and why you have defended this practice of deceit by the administration, certainly reflects back onto you. You may argue that the Dems did it to get around Repubs obstacles...but that is just a fascicle talking point...the Dems had no obstruction to getting it passed, other than the few in their own party who actually read the bill!"

Should read: "At the very best, it was a shoddy attempt at cronyism....and why you have defended this practice of deceit by the administration, certainly reflects back onto you. You may argue that the Dems did it to get around Repubs obstacles...but that is just a FARCICAL talking point...the Dems had no obstruction to getting it passed, other than the few in their own party who actually read the bill!"

(In calm conversational tones)

Sure I do...but you don't seem to differentiate between what actually is, versus how you want it to be. What may be 'true' according to one's hopeful agenda, is very often not true when it comes to what really is.

'NiP' brought a a great point on that very issue, although he/she worded it a bit different.
In the Obamacare thread, you pointed out that Obama's ultimate goal was a 'single payer plan', (which if you'll remember I previously said would have been better than this stupid mess we have now), and 'NiP' pointed out that if that was the case, the Obama administration could have gone straight to that, being, at the time, the Dems had control of both Houses of Congress, and there was no obstruction from the Repubs to do just that....in which case, Obama and crew has deceived not only the majority of Americans...but even the Democrats as well!!...(well those who actually read the bill, as opposed to going along with strict partisan lines. Dennis Kucinich actually read it, and was opposed to it, in favor of a single payer plan, as well. Though he was pressured by the Obama Administration to sign on to it, but he chose not to run again, as I previously noted. The fact that he did that, tells us that he knew 'something was rotten in Denmark'.

All that being said, instead of calling it as it really is, you've been 'supportive' of Obama's deceitful tactics, which, as I previously noted, deceived the Democrats as well....to the point that the next election, they lost the majority of the House of Reps...and are looking at a grim midterm election, as well.
What we do know, is that the present law, forces people into a system which seems to jack up premium rates for everyone, while raising deductibles so high, that people essentially are as without coverage at all....now that is as plain as day...and it is true. Because of this slight of hand, it will ultimately be the 'people' who will decide, by not enrolling at all....and as 'Nip' noted so very eloquently, ""Anybody who lies, distorts, misinforms, twists, spins, manipulates and then resorts to defaming other's character by name calling, slanderous remarks, and false accusations, ALWAYS LOSES because it is just a matter of time before the truth comes out and when it does the foolish behaviour of the one who employs such tactics is revealed for what it is, and when that is revealed then the employer of such tactics is also revealed as a fool!

That was simple. That was so simple that even a simpleton could understand it. Were you able to get it?

Meanwhile after reviewing this thread I still did not criticise the bill but merely voice disapproval of the lies surrounding it. Lies that you not only approve of but have repeated. This is foolishness. Only a fool would disagree."

Have you noticed that the public is just 'rushing out' to enroll in massive droves to take advantage of this 'wonderful' program????

At the very best, it was a shoddy attempt at cronyism....and why you have defended this practice of deceit by the administration, certainly reflects back onto you. You may argue that the Dems did it to get around Repubs obstacles...but that is just a fascicle talking point...the Dems had no obstruction to getting it passed, other than the few in their own party who actually read the bill!

So, in coming full circle, I reiterate, "but you don't seem to differentiate between what actually is, versus how you want it to be. What may be 'true' according to one's hopeful agenda, is very often not true when it comes to what really is."

If you could get passed your arrogance and stubbornness, how could you disagree?

As a side note, I've always maintained that both the major parties are corrupt...and this is just another display of it.

There is NO excuse for it..so don't make one...or don't use theirs.
(It'll make you out to be a 'liar').

Calmly,

GfS

....and look what got posted by a non-partisan person on socialized healthcare....

Subject: RE: BS: So who's signed up for Obamacare?
From: GUEST,Nobody in Particular

"Anybody who lies, distorts, misinforms, twists, spins, manipulates and then resorts to defaming other's character by name calling, slanderous remarks, and false accusations, ALWAYS LOSES because it is just a matter of time before the truth comes out and when it does the foolish behaviour of the one who employs such tactics is revealed for what it is, and when that is revealed then the employer of such tactics is also revealed as a fool!

Meanwhile after reviewing this thread I still did not criticise the bill but merely voice disapproval of the lies surrounding it. Lies that you not only approve of but have repeated. This is foolishness. Only a fool would disagree.

Wouldn't you be shocked if the Republicans offering a 'fix' decide to enter a bill for a single payer plan? Though I don't think so much that they would, it would not surprise me."

Now, for anyone interested, click on that thread, and watch 'Nobody in Particular' try to reason with Firth to stop with his false statements...spinning and 'twisting'.....not only that Don accused 'NiP' of being both 'Songwronger' and me....for the sole reason is that in this thread(I was on earlier, then later had to be involved with some serious studio work) all of us were telling the truth....and that just didn't fly with Don!
Also, 'Nip' called Don on another lie, when Don falsely accused 'Nip' of 'praising GfS(me), when clearly he never did. 'NiP' tells Don to 'show where that was'....no answer from Don.... You also reiterated Obama's lie, saying it was true, which you got slammed on by 'NiP'.......(BTW, what you were saying was true, just got voted The Lie of the Year' by 'Politifact' ......PLUS....well just re-read the thread. Watch the interaction, and Don throwing every conceivable and deceitful playbook tactic at 'NiP'....and frankly Don got demolished!

......which caused 'NiP' to post: "Anybody who lies, distorts, misinforms, twists, spins, manipulates and then resorts to defaming other's character by name calling, slanderous remarks, and false accusations, ALWAYS LOSES because it is just a matter of time before the truth comes out and when it does the foolish behaviour of the one who employs such tactics is revealed for what it is, and when that is revealed then the employer of such tactics is also revealed as a fool!"

....and how prophetically true that turned out to be!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, Don....as 'NiP' tried to point out to you several times, when you seem to be losing the argument....you try to turn the thread into being 'all about you'..............and you are still doing it!...and, believe me, YOU are NOT "Obama's Christmas gift to the needy".....unless of course you thought the thread was about you because preceding "Obama's Christmas gift to the needy" it says "BS"!!!

REVIEW that thread...check it out...and share the embarrassment!

Now, back to the topic???

The only thing Don Firth is guilty of is speaking him mind in an...ummm... 'explicit' manner. He has been here for years, making sense and adding clear analysis supported by facts.....in contrast to vague and/or wild speculation by a few others.

DO note, GfS how many agree with me on this.....but, of course, you'll just attribute this to "liberal folkies" acting like brainwashed sheep.

Pure, unadulterated bull manure!

Having actually worked in political campaigns, I know—personally—several representatives to the Washington State legislature, and one national Congressional Representative. I correspond with my two Senators, and along with receiving feed-back from them, I follow their voting records to make sure they do what they say they're going to do.

Like any good citizen, I keep up on what the government is doing. And I campaign and vote accordingly. I don't just whine, bitch, and complain like you do.

I know for a fact—having, like a good citizen, paid attention to the actual doings of my representatives—that most politicians have a great deal of integrity and are honest. One may not always agree with them and the positions they take on various issues, but come election time, you take all of that into consideration and vote accordingly.

Of course, some people are too flaming lazy to do that because it's a whole lot easier and takes no thought at all to simply condemn political figures entirely.

You, Goofball, are not just a complete waste of space as a human being, you are a lousy citizen and an ignoramus3!!

GFS: There's an exception to every rule, even the rule you invented above. In all of his years in political life, as mayor of Burlington,Vt., a member of the U.S. House of representatives, and a U. S. Senator, I've never known Bernie to act or vote in a manner contrary to his beliefs. I believe him to be a man of honesty and integrity. Furthermore, he manages to maintain his dignity in an increasingly hostile political enviornment.

Blaming the Republicans is just a ploy, as to disguise the fact that both parties are involved WITH each other to take America down a notch or two....That being said, the main fault of both the Republicans AND the Democrats, is NEITHER have been truthful....and they have been bought off. Virtually ALL of them are 'over somebody's barrel', thus crippling any of them to execute their office honestly.
Did you ever wonder WHY, Dennis Kucinich caved in on the Obamacare pressure, to vote for it....and then didn't bother to even run again???

Obama's preferred method of inflicting austerity on the American people is "Don't throw me in the briar patch." From the Uncle Remus stories. Obama pretends to be against something he actually favors. He's an elitist who hates us commoners, but he has to keep up the deception that he gives a damn, so he blames the Republicans for making him do things. Playground stuff. It's shameful that grownups fall for it.

Your problem is that you seem to base most of your 'opinions' on bold face lies..and then personally attack those who don't buy into your bullshit, parroted or otherwise.

Truth is, you should have just stuck to music.
**************************************************************************

Now back to the issue at hand...

Songwronger's original post and topic of the thread was: "By the administration's own figures, allowing the federally-funded extended benefit program to expire will end cash assistance for 1.3 million people immediately after the holidays and impact an additional 3.6 million people in the first half of 2014.

With this cruel and callous act, Obama and the Democratic Party are prepared to join with the Republicans in condemning nearly 5 million people and their families to destitution. In prior recessions, emergency unemployment benefits, beyond the standard aid offered by the states, have never been terminated when unemployment remained at such high levels as those prevailing today....

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2013/12/07/obam-d07.html

Are we not fortunate to have such a caring leader? He kills with starvation, not a sword, so he is humane. And in his humanity he has already offered to aid us by cutting social security and Medicare:

Amid government shutdown, Obama signals cuts to Social Security, Medicare. "

Guess what???........HE IS CORRECT!!

"Goofballupagus, Songwronger is totally biased against President Obama, and if he could find some arch-conservative fundamentalist website claiming that they had Scriptural proof that Obama is the Anti-Christ and that Armageddon is imminent, he would post THAT.

THAT IS NOT NEWS, that is someone's half-assed, biased opinion!

True, I have worked as a broadcast news editor and director. And I learned how to determine whether or not a supposed news source was biased or reliable. It's not that difficult for anyone with a functioning brain.

But anyone with as much as a nursery school education should be able to smell pure, unadulterated excrement when they encounter it.

Flunked out of nursery school, did you? That explains a lot about you!"

Actually, if some of you weren't so governed by lies and deception, and then go on promoting more lies and deception, you'd think you'd be thanking Songwronger for telling you the truth accurately. After all, how can you know what the fuck is really going on when your idiot opinions are based on a long series of lies and deceptions???

Oh!...Now that you've been shown to have been clearly 'in error', (polite-speak for 'full of shit') let's resort to personal attacks, on the order of the 'so-called liberal' playbook of avoiding a discussion aiming to get to the truth....truth...you know?...truth??

Maybe someone should explain what that is.

The last post was mine.

SPEAKING OF WHICH:
According to this, unemployment figures went WAY down

But according to this..something is all bullshit!

So the confusion is because of more lies about the figures.....and neither 'side'(?) is doing or saying diddly-squat, which leads me to once again allude....it's all showbiz, and they're in it together!..and once again, the people including yourselves, are being duped BIG TIME.

Don would approve........except he doesn't know squat, either!

Larry the Radio Guy: "Personally I wish he weren't such a 'politician' and that he were willing to really stand up for what he purports to believe in."

..and what is that????
The guy has lied so much, who can tell???

I think you'd have a better 'clue' if you knew who he was Really working for.....as the song goes,
"The voice of deception has uneven rhythms,
listen to the man who's afraid
...the man who's afraid has all sorts of answers,
(vote for me, vote for me)
to the problems, within his own head.
the threat fro the 'outside' is now, and forever alive...."~~~Paul 'Biff' Rose

Smoke and mirrors? Maybe. But I doubt if it's that simple. I've little doubt that Obama made a good pitch for the extension.

But it got lost in the political world of 'compromise'. I suspect Don Firth is right when he says

"Obama seems to be trying his best to reassemble it (FDR's New Deal) again, but the Republicans are hell-bent on trying to prevent him from doing it"

And I think songwronger's also right.......he's sold out a bunch of needy people by signaling his agreement to this cuts.

Personally I wish he weren't such a 'politician' and that he were willing to really stand up for what he purports to believe in.

But I'm not party to all the details. It would be interesting to hear from somebody who has more information about exactly what happened.

Yeah, I think that's what I'm getting too...
Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass...Songwronger posts a link from a Socialist site....while the White House's link is just more smoke and mirrors.....why this should surprise anyone shows you just how far out of touch their 'reality' is.....but, of course, they think you're stupid, and they know what's good for you!!!!

My understanding is that the extension didn't go through. I think it was from a report on MSN.......I'm not sure.

Gargoyle, I read your link, however it only describes the current situation, and has an argument for the extension....but it does not say that the extension is a done deal. Songwronger's link was to the socialist web site, reporting that somehow they are privy to the outcome, which says that the WH gave in and folded on the matter.
today on the news, it sounded like there's going to be a compromise. I didn't get all the details, but it sounded like a 'give and take', but I didn't catch the status of the unemployment extensions. Ask Don...he'll make it up if he doesn't know for sure..and you'll probably like it....I think.

Regardless of what happens with unemployment benefits, Obama SAID he's willing to cut them. And he said he's willing to cut Medicare and Social Security.

Those positions are supposed to belong to the opposition party.

Obama is a hypocrite and he serves the monied interests, same as his "opposition."

Nah! Goofball is more the Thunderbird wine type. Often seen being drunk (!) by those wine connoisseurs in back alleys, leaning against Dumpsters. Best drunk straight from the bottle still wrapped in the paper bag.

GFS: A gift for the needy. Just got a "free" flask from the Drambuie company as a Christmas gift. It looks sort of cheesy, but if you come to the house I'll give it to you. The wife thinks it may be hazardous to my health.

Because of my actions a few years back, in cooperation with other like-minded people, the citizens of the State of Washington are paying lower taxes than they would have to pay if the measure I worked on hadn't gone through

And we'd have several expensive nuclear power plants in the state, costing us much more for electrical power than our current CLEAN hydropower, and cranking out tons of nuclear waste that no one seems to know what to do with.

And (this will be of special interest to you) one of the candidates whom I campaigned for was instrumental in the passage of Washington State's new same-sex marriage law.

Why don't you just take your jar of Vaseline, grease up your whole body, and slide smoothly off the end of nearest pier? Do the whole world a favor.
