Hell, Micca, if you've succumbed to gallstones it must be grim - I always though you had the constitution of a granite ox! Best wishes, and I hope all goes well and that boredom doesn't become terminal. Hospitals are so sodding *dull*, particularly when you feel crappy. All the very best ol' pal...

You weren't around back in May, but believe me when I say...I UNDERSTAND!!! And you're right about the tests...some of the most unlikely things hurt like hell! Of course there's the infamous lower GI which sounds nasty, and IS. Of course Squeaks probably goes through more pain hot waxing her chest. I suggested a good depilatory, but she told me to bugger off. What can I say, it ain't my chest hair.

Thinking of you,

Spaw

Micca, good to hear your *voice*! Thanks Aud for typing and printing and generally being a good partner. It's the pits when a healer has to lay low for awhile.

Micca, you are thought of many times thoughout my day, always in the Light. Do what they say, okay? We want you to feel better!

Still holding you and yours in our prayers, Áine

Hi Cats, Many thanks for all the good wishes/healing, etc.,& greetings from the depths of the Royal London Hospital. I still do not know what's wrong with me but I have a radio so I know what's wrong with the world.
Apart from being woken up every hour on the hour for blood sugar tests, no food, only water to drink (any one who knows me will tell you how much I like that!) & because of this (I was admitted at 4 am Saturday), missing my favourite BEER FESTIVAL,like Cletus I was blowing blue smoke & flames.
A little thread creep: why do they never tell you that ultrasound scans hurt like hell? I feel like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.
The immediate plan as far as I know is to get the infection under control, then either operate or, their preferred route, send me home for 6 weeks then do the op.
Many thanks again to everyone, Aud printed the thread & it gave me a real boost. More soon. Cheers, Micca

Audrey, thank you so much for the update and good news, well about it not being too serious, at least, sorry about the surgery, though. Welcome to the Mudcat, you're doing just fine for being a newbie at cyberdom.*smile*

Please tell Micca that twiddling thumbs may stifle boredom, BUT it can be dangerous if one lets them get all tied up in knots. **Big Grin**

Can he have a cd/tape player? I know when Spaw was in hospital it really seemed to help him to have music to lsiten to. Any chance you could smuggle in a laptop?

Seriously, please tell Micca we miss him and are holding him in the Light of perfect health and well being, as well as you, Aud.

Blessed Be,

luvyaKat

Dear friends, This isn't Micca, but his wife, Aud. I saw him in hospital this morning & will go back again this evening. He thanks everyone for the good wishes & fan mail, his condition is gallstones so nothing serious. Sorry, I'm very new to this messages via websites stuff & am not too sure of the best way of sending things on. At the moment he doesn't know when he will have the operation (stones too big for ultrasound zap), but it *could* mean spending the Millennium at home, with no booze. Please continue to send greetings, I will deliver them. His main problem at the moment is stultifying boredom. Best wishes & Love to all of you, Audrey XXOO :-)

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to thank all of you who might not have 'signed the book' on Mark's thread, but kept him in your thoughts and prayers. He's doing very well and may get to leave the hospital tomorrow. See 'his thread' for details.

My son was very impressed by the caring and concern shown for his best friend and he thanks you sincerely for all your good thoughts and prayers.

Again, thank you all and if you ever need me, I'll be there, Áine

Thank you all. Welcome, welcome, MamaTamba. Glad to have you aboard. Less than a year ago, I wasn't online at all. Wonderful things happen here.

Micca, thank you for all of your clarity on here. Iwasn't sure how to put things really. And, yes, LTS, while the litle things do add up and it is important for the warm fuzzies annap mentioned, I was thinking of this as a readily available, "supreme effort" type of thing, even though I know we all do our utmost for one another anyway. I guess this would just be more organised and specific and also, I wanted to stress the confidentiality or privateness, if people so desired, along with the concerted effort of many as one.

Still open to any directions and suggestions, etc.

Just got back from our trip, so I'll post more tomorrow.

luvyaKat

Hey, big things are made up of little things. If encouraging someone to take better care of themselves, simply by thought, word or deed, means they are healthier in body or spirit, then surely we should be encouraging little things as well. If I felt that my big things (my asthma, 4 close relatives who've either died from or have the big C, disabled mother with MS) were affecting my life as much as some of the little things (insomnia, the squitters, migraine, whatever), then I would just lie down and give up now.

Sometimes, it is impossible to focus on the big picture, and the whole dis-ease cannot be digested as one piece. Focus on one thing that can be dealt with. Often, when people are in great pain, it is the small things that hurt most. When I was recovering from a Caeserean section, I was in more pain from swollen, itchy feet (side effect of blood pressure problems) than I was from the major surgery procedure. Someone gave me some foot balm and curing that just made everything easier to cope with. So don't ignore the little things.

And I still have that virus......

There was an experiment reported in New Scientist which claimed to have a control group not prayed for. I wondered a) just how they made sure that no-one prayed for the control group, and b) just what sort of deity would go along with such an experiment (since they were discussing prayer rather than non-deity assisted healing). I also remember a short story by Zenna Henderson on the same theme, in which the protagonist refused to abstain from praying as she gave blood.

The serious implication of this is that, if it works, we have an obligation to do it.

I think I agree with Micca. This is for the Big Things. Horrible question: since our intervention with Mark has apprently been successful (see other thread for THAT good news) should we be thinking about a double blind study to show we are really doing something here? Only one problem. . . how to decide who goes in the "control" group!! On second thought, let's just keep doing our best and it may make a difference to THAT starfish. Was it the Lubavitcher Rebbe who said that "any single act of love and kindness may be the one that tips the balance"? I was so surposed to read Robert Anton Wilson saying the same thing!

Can I say I agree with Annap, in the main, as I understand it this is for the Biggies where one needs the spiritual equivalent of an antibiotic and a source of support and energy to get you through something not encountered every day. Working with it may well help you with everyday stress and "things" but the object of the exercise is someone else. Nothing wrong with "Warm and fuzzy" and it may be the feeling you get from participation but the intent is for "big stuff" That is focused healing energy for those who need it. Dear Kat, and all you others,

I'm REAL new to the web in general and as a member to this site in particular (just hours old, as a matter of fact), so I don't know all the protocol and abbreviations yet.

I already see that some of you are very tolerant and supportive and some of you are real quick on the draw.

As the kids say "Whatever!"

Kat...count me in! You're kind of energy is what attracted me to this site in the first place.

Is there a way to keep THIS thread going...so that anyone signing on can see the heading and know where to go for some warm fuzzies???

Luv, MamaTamba

Since our dear Kat Sagewalker is in the wilds of darkest Utah, Can I suggest a ( NB. A, not the) method for adding energy to a circle in case it's a technique that you are not familiar with. If you have a method that works for you use that.
If you want to, use an image,( or music or whatever,) that relaxes you, either have it handy or put it on the screen and minimise it. Then log on to the Cat and find the healing circle page or the particular thread asking for healing or even the name of the originator. Once you have the contact in your mind maximise or look at your image and think relaxing healing thoughts, don't force them just let them flow, almost steal over you the way the smell of fresh baked apple pie does.
Another method is to build up your energy, do something creative, go for a walk, pet your animals make love, anything that raises your "feeling of wellbeing" then when its appropriate log on and pour the energy into who or what you want to help. Do not be surprised if it increases the sense of wellbeing and energy you feel inside, this is a common occurrence the more you give the more you receive (this is not always the case but often occurs). One belief system says that "What you send out you will receive threefold" It applies to good as well as bad. Hope this helps and many thanks to all who have volunteered to help. I am interested in how people feel and their experiences of this kind of energy transfer, if anyone feels like communicating their experiences please do so on the personal mails.
I do not think we necessarily need even to coordinate times as the cicle is around the world any way and energy to the circle will be constantly used and topped up. " Let the circle be unbroken" Micca

I'm in there with the rest of you who don't feel they have specific healing powers but are quite happy to concentrate our thoughts on a specific person or subject. I don't know how successful we can be trying to align all our thoughts at the same time as we all work from such different time frames - even those of us in the same country don't necessarily log on regularly at the same time, but I'm sure that if the requests for thoughts/help are there, we can probably provide an almost continuous 24-hour service, so to speak, as we log on in our own time.

I'm sitting here at work also worrying about a friend's mother who is having surgery in an hour and a half for suspected kidney cancer. When my first wife developed brain cancer, we were convinced that everybody's prayers and concern made life easier for her. In fact, she lived 7 years after the doctors had predicted 6 months. Miracles happen every day, it's just a matter of recognizing them. Hang in there, Squeak!

I'm in and for those of you above eho say"I am not a healer" or "I just do my bit for the General wellbeing" I ask you what can be more healing than that. We you see something or go somewhere or think of something special that makes you feel alive and in contact with the earth/ life/God(what ever you percieve Him or Her to be) or anything that raises your awareness. Just focus/think it towards the purpose(ie Sally) and thats all. At best it will help at the very worst you may feel a little foolish for "thinking into the void" but you will feel better for having contributed, it may not be clear to you what, but you have. When I think of being a 'Healer', I think of being a human being who has got their priorities straight. Kindness, compassion and caring of other human beings. To me this is the most important endeavor any human being could understake.

Caring Mudcatters; people connnecting their minds with an open heart, thinking loving thoughts in genuine concern to help heal the wounded.

I don't know much about any of this arcane and abstruse healing stuff. I do my little bit of what I think is good and hope I do no harm. Anybody who wants my help is welcome to it. I'm pretty good at coming up with strategies to help people create order out of chaos. (I know this because half-a-dozen career assessments can't be all wrong...)

I think a mudcat healing circle is a great idea, though.

I'm not sure I could participate in the healing circle in terms of gathering at a certain time - after all, I am an early morning person :-) But I am a good listener and am willing to do so almost anytime I am online. My email is ac2d@jade.pvcc.cc.va.us and my ICQ is #30294692 or put a message in the Mudcat pernsonal message feature.

Allan

I have no healing powers, but I am good at listening, especially to people who are slow, or have speech problems. (Not evident in mudcatters so far) If I can help, let me know. Hwyl, Bron.

Ah yes, but if laughter is the best medicine then give me a weeks worth of bullshit any day, facts are like big pills, hard to swallow without something to sugar coat it.

OOh I feel a song coming on..... all together now.....

Just a spoonful of sugar helps.......
