Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: GUEST,Musket Date: 12 Jan 16 - 02:35 AM I'd best not mention that I tried retirement for just over a year but got tempted back into the rat race last summer. I would say I never looked back, but I haven't the ruddy time to turn my head anyway... I'm envious of anyone who retires and enjoys it. Good luck mate. |
Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: GUEST,HiLo Date: 12 Jan 16 - 02:17 AM Enjoy it , sure is the best life style ever. |
Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: John on the Sunset Coast Date: 11 Jan 16 - 10:43 PM I retired in 2007 also...Sept. 30. Yet I dream of working at least once a week. In these dreams I am either selling (which I did wholesale for 34 years), or discussing sales with my manager. The funny thing is that I never make any sales in these dreams. As I was rather successful in my job, I guess the dream is a way to tell me not to go back. Still-in-all, it's rather humiliating not to make any dream sales. Its rather like when I used to sleep sans clothing that I would be doing non-sexual things stark nekkid in dreamland. Thank god I never wore a Maidenform bra, for those of you who remember their 1950s/60s 'I dreamed...' advert promos. |

Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: Joe_F Date: 11 Jan 16 - 08:57 PM Yeah, sometimes it takes me 4 hours to get up, exercise, run around the block, shower, make breakfast, eat it, & wash the dishes. Then I read the news, and it's lunch time. |
Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: olddude Date: 11 Jan 16 - 08:26 PM Gotta figure out what I want to do now. I have a book to finish I guess that's a start. Do some theory, maybe. Get back involved with the autism charity. Maybe do nothing for as long as I want dunno... |

Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: Rapparee Date: 11 Jan 16 - 07:42 PM Hanging it up, huh? Retirement expands to fill the time available, and soon you'll be wondering how you ever had time for "work." |
Subject: RE: BS: Officially retired From: Donuel Date: 11 Jan 16 - 07:28 PM What I have seen of my fathers retirement and my own is that there is the special project that never has the energy required or the wakeful time to accomplish. This need not be but it is a trend far too often. All in all retirement in the country keeps you most fit. Enjoy |
