It does, sometimes; but even so, it is preferable to no-reality, I expect! :D

Kendall I know how you feel having to give up a good part of your life due to arthritis. I am fighting 2 shoulders operations and Arther after 86 years of enjoying playing my guitar and I'm afraid I'm going to lose this battle. Anyway keep your chin up and keep smiling that is about all you can hope for CHEERS Louie Roy

I'm seriously thinking of selling my custom made Apollo 12 string too.

A new model 810 is priced at $5800.00. Mine is a "Lemon Grove" 4 digit serial number.

I agree. it is a top quality instrument, but, the higher the price, the fewer buyers.

$1100.00 for an 810? It's not a steal - it's theft. I'd look for another place to sell it. Don't give it away mate.

A constant reminder, yes. I have other uses for the value of it.

Sorry to hear of your problems. I have similar but probably not so bad as you describe. I have had to modify my playing style for banjo and guitar so can for the moment keep playing. I dread the time when I may have to decide to stop.
If you value the guitar so much can you not hang on to it at least as a keepsake, but then I suppose it would be a constant reminder.
Anyway, best of luck
Pete

I can vouch for the quality of the guitar - I had the use of it for The Getaway in 2010 (Thanks Again Kendall) which saved me extra hold luggage cost !!

you have probably tried this, but just in case, I was unable to finger pick for years, but accidentally backed into the anti-inflammatory diet when i got diabetes. not usually into the fringy stuff, but i wasn't even trying this.
went from being unable to prune my roses to getting 'em all done in record time.

good luck.

Well, buddy, I sold a Bodhran three days ago. The young fellah that bought it never played one (a banjo player... I said. "You are really gonna take the piss now.") and he asked me to demonstrate it. Haven't pounded a drum or anything ( ANYthing >;-) ) for years. Well, all I could do was smack it a bit like a beginner. That REALLY upset me but Arthur is a prick, eh? I sold my guitar and mandolin several years back which was a few years after I knew they should go to a "better" home. You'll just have to be thankful you got 25+ years more than I did.

I know that doesn't make you feel better. Matter of fact, makes me feel bad about whining but, dammit all, that's all I have left!

Odd that I should read this today. I bumped into a guy I used to play with at "My" Sobeys Grocery today... a store I would have thought I would never see him in because it's not the closest Sobeys to where he lives. He said he would call and we'd have a session. Nope. Sigh.

I'll put out the word about your guitar around my neck of the woods.

I'm sorry about your hands, Kendall. Have you ever tried a mountain dulcimer? I think it's easier on the hands. I play mine on a table and use a thumbpick.

I am also very sorry, I think, for me, that would be the second worst afiction next to going blind, maybe worse. I also hope you get a fair price. Mike

The time has come to face facts. I'm not the man I used to think I was. A little humor helps.
This Taylor is the best production guitar I have ever owned; including, Mossman, Guild, Martin, Gibson, Yamaha and Carlo Robelli.

Dave Mallett calls it a "Kick ass" guitar, and even the bluegrass pickers are impressed.
It's sad, to be sure, but I feel kinda like Sisyphus every time I try to play it. 'm told by an expert that it is valued at $1500.00, but, there will be a Mudcatters discount. Bidding starts at $900.00

My Taylor is in the auction.
Arthritis is making sure I will never play it again. It's the last f$%*&^g straw.
