all of Pennsylvania
(well, maybe not Pittsburgh)
is cheering the winners of Super Bowl Number 52.
Wonder if congrats are due to Max . . .
over in State College.
Of course the Mudcat Café itself
is a Pennsylvania baby.

They were scared about how the fans in Philly would let loose.
Big law enforcement presence.
But all I heard about was that
fans took mattresses to the Museum of Art
and tobogganned down those front steps on the mattresses.

Whilst in Massachusetts,
a cat burglar targeted the house of one of the New England Patriots team members
and broke in while the family was away in Minnesota . . .

Of course the Philadelphia Eagles have been around for a long time.
And Philly is the kind of city with great cohesion and loyalty
in the followers and fans, regardless of how a team does.
So actually I think it's lovely
to see the victory go to Philadelphia,
if only for the pride of the city and the sports fans.

The DH was in a casino in Missouri during the game. Touchdowns by the Eagles were met with cheers; touchdowns by the Patriots with silence.

Fans have not forgiven the team that singled out concussion victims for especially rough treatment.

On a more cheerful note, on Superbowl Sunday, two friends of mine were looking at house that was for sale. One reason they wanted to move was that their apartment is in an unfriendly, conservative, stand-offish neighborhood.

So they went to see the house for sale and saw that a neighbor had set up two lines of scrimmage in the yard - both lines consisting of plastic flamingos. They made an offer that same day.
