There are very few genuine You Tube performances, in the sense that the musicians specifically arranged for themselves to be filmed for this purpose.
So, mostly, we're discussing performances from live gigs, CD TRACKS and so on.

I'd much rather discuss my favourite gig highlights and favourite COS.

Here's one of my favourites: St Patrick's Cathedral
second only to John Sheahans' "other cathedral" - Christ Church Cathedral - which can be found on a video on JS's facebook page, tho' not, I think, on YouTube.

Great Kenny: we were staying in Asturias some years ago, and the music of Tejedor was the background music at breakfast! I had to go to reception and ask what the heck they were playing! Loved it! Had to wait a few more years until the came to Celtic Connections before i could get a CD!

An unusual situation arose last Monday night at our local session which ended up with me and 3 musicians from various parts of Spain. Put me in mind of this :

When I think of youtube performances, tracks ripped off CDs are not the first to come to mind.

For some reason, the people that bring this up are always anonymous. But tracks ripped from CDs are a good source of music on YouTube. YouTube either controls their posting or pays the royalties, so I see nothing morally wrong with posting ripped tracks on YouTube. If you want to discuss the morality of posting ripped tracks on YouTube, start another thread.

nice one Ake...

The youtube recommendations on my home page are mostly abysmal...

Heavy metal guitar solos, or plodding blues rock...

bloody youtube viewer profiling algorithms..

Though this might make an enjoyable thread and to start it off a performance which combines all that's best in folk music, an extremely proficient musician, cracking tune and an audience which is fully committed to the music.....in fact the audience are a large part of this performance, their excitement and emotional commitment are palpable.
