Ya beat me here, Joe: but I got 'em linked to the verse and chorus, I play it in D, and I use IV instead of VIminor in the chorus.

slightly different Em in the chorus instead of the G's on the 2nd and 4th lines.....

In the key of D, in the chorus, F#m and Bm works for me.

Oh, lord. I see I forgot to replace the apostrophe and quotation marks when I uploaded this from Claris Works: for some reason HTML reads CW quotes and apostrophes as

apostrophe: 1
open quote: 2
close quote: 3

as for the chorus chords, I find Bmin works just as well as G: it doesn't change the overall sound all that much, and--when playing accompaniment, I'm as apt to play the Bminor, but in a break, the hand movement (in double C tuning on the banjo) down from the 2nd position C is a bit smoother to G than to Bminor.

oops, again. It should have read "the hand movement (in double C tuning on the banjo capo at the second fret) down from the 2nd position D...because, of course, such a banjo is tuned to double D not double C babblebabblebabble.

Some songs don't benefit from having instruments playing along, and this is one of them.

with my voice, any song benefits with an instrument playing along...and an instrument playing the harmony is a great aid to finding the tune for those of us who are somewhat challenged when it comes to reading music (oh, I know, folk music isn't written down, it's orally transmitted).
