David, I’m not saying all Americans are superstitious fuck-wits. Far from it - I worked, for the final 13 years of my working life, for an American company based in Houston TX, and I spent a significant amount of time working over there, so I’m aware that there are good, sensible, nice Americans as well as horrible, superstitious, fuck-wit Americans.

But the fact of Trump’s election, and the belief many seem to hold that “The President was aaaaaww-dained bah aa-a-almighteh Ga-a-a-ad”, (as one informed me very forcefully!) suggests that there are a significant number of Americans who fall into the latter category.
