Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: GUEST,hi lo Date: 21 Apr 19 - 12:39 PM Thank you ,both of you. It has been both Easter and Passover for us..a grim spring day, but a warm fire and close family inside have made it a grand celebration. Have a good holiday all. |
Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: punkfolkrocker Date: 21 Apr 19 - 01:03 PM My Atheist ritual is to watch a Jesus movie at easter.. Can't remember how many years ago I began it... [Probably to wind up the mrs.. She's a wavering sort of agnostic, caught between her highly religious Welsh Chapel family, and me.. I think it started when they brainwashed her into giving me a Jesus picture book one easter..???] But it is a bloody good story, and there are some highly entertaining films.. So a chicken and chips dinner followed later by "Risen" (2016)... same director as "Waterworld"... |
Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: Rapparee Date: 21 Apr 19 - 07:45 PM We just finished ham, scalloped potatoes, and a nice fruit tart (the small individual US kind). The ham was uncured and from "vegetarian animals", whatever that means. |
Subject: RE: Happy Easter From: Steve Shaw Date: 21 Apr 19 - 08:29 PM Got a ton of family round, four generations of us. Eleven biggies and our beautiful grandson. I made two massive cottage pies (lowest common denominator grub), which we had with cauli, carrots and northern peas*, and Mrs Steve made two huge trifles using my last year's frozen raspberries. Ridiculous food for such a hot day but how were we to know! They ate every scrap, not one forkful scraped into the bin, and a very jolly time was had by all. And Liverpool won 2-0 at Cardiff to boot! *Dave'll like this. I made them with a Morrisons' bag of frozen peas meant for mushy but held back at the soft bullet stage, unmushed just, just like wot my mum served in her chippy sixty years ago. My mum can't stand these new-fangled "garden pea jobs" (heheh) and I was dead chuffed that she gave her seal of approval to my Morrisons cheat effort. |
