Subject: Lyr Req: English/Irish sea song re: lost sailor From: GUEST,Debra N Date: 15 Feb 20 - 10:48 PM Hello, wondering if anyone can help me. I was at a chantey sing the other night and someone sang a beautiful, haunting ballad about a woman whose lover (husband?) has been lost at sea. I believe this was an English or Irish song. The woman sings about how she'll never marry, never love again, and at the end she decides to throw herself into the sea to die. I have no way to track down the person who sang this song the other night, so I thought I'd check here. |

And it looks like "I never will marry" derives from "The Constant Lovers". I never will marry The Constant Lovers |
