does anyone have a charity with very good tracking record that will be doing a lot for the covid crisis? I am planning to add a charity to contribute to.

I would recommend just helping your neighbors, or local shelters, food banks, first responders etc. Think *and* act locally. Anything else and you're paying for administration of the charity, no?

What Mrrzy said.
I donate to the local Harry Chapin food bank and will send a chunk of my stimulus check to it, if it ever arrives. Here in
Florida folks are having a difficult time getting unemployment insurance and many families are going hungry.

Yup. Keep it hyper-local, help your neighbors. I'm still making masks that I've giving to people, something that helps with their safety without being a dollar donation (it's my time and resources instead). I may have made three dozen masks by now? I'm also picking up take-out at a couple of my favorite restaurants; when you go pick it up they get the entire fee, if you use a delivery service they barely break even. Plan what you order so it will be several meals for you. Even if you have a modest retiree income, you can help.
