Actually whole song request---or Title will do.
Back awhile (before YouTube).....heard a couple of times a Nuevo song --- once, pretty sure, sung by Pete Seeger and grandson---VERY stirring sounding, but I don't recall a word of the Spanish. Wasn't Venga Jaleo or anything else by the Weavers. Sorry I have so few clues.

Sounded like it would be fun to sing----depending upon what it actually says!

Did Pete Seeger record anything by Victor Jara?

Hmmm. Wild guess, but how about "Solo le Pido a Dios"? That's the only Nueva canción song I can remember them doing.

Here are two performances - Tao Rodriguez is singing lead.

That could be the one.
Translation looks like a respectable thought.
Now I will play with it, in my painful, over-pronounced one-semester (50 years ago) Spanish.

Thanks.

May I advertise?
6 PM Sundays, Eastern time, I've been doing a light hour of songs and "remarks" on my Facebook page. Yeah, yeah, my wife says I talk too much.
This has been going on for a year and will "until I can't."

Getting my chops back, and not often repeating songs. (THAT won't go on forever.) That means I've been through 500 songs in a year. Trying to find and conquer everything I've ever liked. Having a good time. Not going to return to public performance yet.

Stay safe!

I THOUGHT we had a thread on this song, but I couldn't find it last night (maybe because my wife stole my computer and I was stuck with a phone?). But yes, we have a very nice thread on the song, and I've crosslinked it at the top of this page. We included the song in the Rise Again Songbook, and here is the page on the song that I worked up to supplement the songbook.

I wasn't familiar with Nueva canción, so I got quite an education when I was researching the song for the songbook.

Thank you for the link to the page on the song, with two translations. I will enjoy learning and performing this. Mercedes rocks!
