Teàrlach òg gun d' fhalbh e uainn,
Tèarainte thall thar uchd a' chuain;
'S lìonmhor cridhe brist' a bhios,
Mura till e rinn a-rìs.

[Sèisd:]
O nach till thu rinn a-rìs,
O nach till thu rinn a-rìs,
Gaol nas blàithe chaoidh cha bhi,
Na gaol nan Gaidheal dhut-sa, rìgh.

Dh'earb thu anns na Gaidheil fhìor,
Ghràdhaich iadsan thu le'n cridhe,
Rinn iad d' fhalach anns a' ghleann,
Nuair a dh'iarr an nàmh do cheann.

'S binn an smeòrach anns a' choille
Seinn le sòlas ri uchd soills',
Ach ge binn, gur trom mo chridhe,
Chionn nach till thu rinn a-rìs.

Tearlach Óg is Bonny Prince Charlie. The title means, Oh, won't you return to us again. A translation of "Will Ye No Come Back Again" written by Carolina Oliphant (Lady Nairne) in the first half of the 19th century).

a-rìs is more usually spelled a-rithist in Scottish Gaelic
