Subject: Obit: Seoirse Ó Dochartaigh, Irish singer From: Felipa Date: 24 Nov 25 - 07:04 PM https://www.seoirse.com/ Seoirse Ó Dochartaigh, who died Friday 21 Nov, was a singer mainly of traditional Irish language songs in a modern style. He made several recordings. He was also a visual artist, a writer and a researcher of geneology and local history. Originally from Belfast, Seoirse lived in County Donegal for most of his adult life. I first met Seoirse at the pier in Bunbeg, where practically as soon as we introduced ourselves Seoirse asked me if I sang any songs! I think the song I sang for him was Bríd Óg Ní Mhaille. https://www.derryjournal.com/news/people/sadness-following-passing-of-prolific-inishowen-writer-musician-and-artist-seoirse-o-dochartaigh-5415737 |

A very smooth and listenable voice in either language, and apparently a life very well lived. I've downloaded the tribute, looks like a good project for practicing translating. |
