I am looking for the lyrics to "Big Bad John," an old country song. I can't remember who sings it. Guitar chords would be nice.

Knowing who recorded it would be a fine first step, if that were all that was available. Then I might be able to listen to the recording and write the words down and pick out the chords myself.

Hullo, Captain - Ordinarily, I would tell you to look for a song like this in the country music lyrics database at Cowpie (click here). In this case, it's kind of a crossover to folk so it's in our database. Put [big bad John] in the search box on this page (so it'll read as an exact phrase) and you'll find it right away - or you can be lazy and click here
It's always best to look around a bit on your own first, before posting a request in the forum. Even if you don't find the song you're looking for right away, you're bound to find some treasures you didn't expect.

Many thanks, Joe. I did try the DT first with various phrases but maybe I put spaces in the wrong places or something.
