Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Adios, Farewell, Goodbye, Senorita From: GUEST,Joe Date: 03 Feb 00 - 06:22 PM It's triple time like that but it's a closer cousin to "Cigarettes, Whiskey & Wild, Wild Women". Maybe the rhyme is "my chiquita". |
Subject: ADD: Goodbye, My Chiquita From: Art Thieme Date: 07 Feb 00 - 11:43 PM Terry Gilkyson and the EASYRIDERS did this song on an old LP. 1950's I think the hit song for them was "MARYANN" (Down by the seaside sifting sand---Even little children love Maryann...) God knows why I saved these lyrics. The tune was pretty nice as I remember it. Goodbye My Chicquita
I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler, I'm a get rich quick scrambler,
Chorus)
Just a-riding and a-hiding, my time I was biding,
Like a man I adored her---took her back to the border,

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Adios, Farewell, Goodbye, Senorita From: llareggyb Date: 12 Jun 00 - 01:20 AM It is a good singable tune. I have been thinking of adding it to our song circle's book, so I came here looking for the lyrics. I have the original 78 up in a trunk somewhere, and it was indeed the B-side of Maryann (which is still a hit when I sing it at parties!). I'd be happy to tape it for anyone seriously interested. Thanks to Art for saving me some typing, several months later! (See, some things on the net do have lasting value)! Tony Patriarche dap2@home.com |
