Looking for the lyrics to "Gambella the gamlin' lady", song was done by Jo Stafford and/or Frankie laine. Can find many CD's on internet but not just words.

Hmmm. This page (click) says it was recorded by Frankie Laine, with Jo Stafford. I don't think I've heard it, but I've loved every Jo Stafford recording I've heard.
I'm working off this Google search, but I don't have time to explore every page completely. Maybe it will help somebody else.

This one may be difficult to track down. it was indeed recorded by Frankie Laine in the mid-50's. I don't remember Jo Stafford being involved, but apparently she was. From memory, here is a snippet of the lyrics:

Gambella Gambella
Gambella the gamblin'lady
She carries her umbrella
To cover a path that is shady

I wish I could remember more, but that's it.

I think that first bit was the chorus. Here is what I can remember of what I think was the first verse. I'm not sure how much of this I'm actually remembering and how much I'm just filling in.

Now I'm a two-fisted gambler
I gamble both near and far
From back roads (?) to highways
I make them play my way
From champagne (?) to cold caviar
