Lyr Req: Snow Snow (Pete Seeger)

DigiTrad:
BIG MUDDY
DON'T ASK WHAT A RIVER IS FOR
FLOWERS OF PEACE
I MIND MY OWN BUSINESS
MRS. ROOSEVELT
MY GET UP AND GO HAS GOT UP AND WENT
MY OLD BROWN EARTH
OH, HAD I A GOLDEN THREAD
OLD DEVIL TIME
ONE GRAIN OF SAND
PRECIOUS FRIEND
QUITE EARLY MORNING
SAILING DOWN MY DIRTY STREAM
SAILING DOWN MY GOLDEN RIVER
SOUR CREAM
TURN, TURN, TURN or TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON
WALKING DOWN DEATH ROW
WELL MAY THE WORLD GO

From PeteSeeger.net:

SNOW, SNOW
Words and Music by Pete Seeger (1964)
TRO - (c) 1965 (renewed) Melody Trails, Inc., NY

CHORUS: Snow, snow, falling down;
Covering up my dirty old town.

Covers the garbage dump, covers the holes,
Covers the rich homes, and the poor souls,
Covers the station, covers the tracks,
Covers the footsteps of those who'll not be back.

Under the street lamp, there stands a girl,
Looks like she's not got a friend in this world.
Look at the big flakes come drifting down,
Twisting and turning, round and round.

Covers the mailbox, the farm and the plow.
Even barbed wire seems — beautiful now.
Covers the station, covers the tracks.
Covers the footsteps of those who'll not be back.

A great song. I saw Pete play a couple of times many years ago. A guy I was friendly with way back then knew Pete quite well. Said he was one of the warmest most generous people he ever met, shy in some ways and very unassuming.

For a start at finding chords, here is Pete singing "Snow, Snow":
