Search the Digitrad Database for "Mary Mack" and "Up Among the Heather". These two traditional songs are the basis for the lyrics used by Great Big Sea for their version of Mari-Mac. Add your own Li-diddle-li's where appropriate.

After taking all of your directions to heart, I was still unable to find the lyrics to Mari Mac, if anyone has been successful at this would you please email it to me. Or atleast point me in the right direction!!!

In the upper right hand corner at the beginning of this thread is a box that says Search The Digi Trad Database, enter in Mary Mack and hit search, it'll take you right there. Barry

It is indeed in the database. However, in any version I've ever heard sung it's the mothers who are insisting on the wedding. I think that this is how it is supposed to be because that way you get all m's making the song more difficult to sing.
