Well Winterhorse, I don't really know much about Natalie Merchant but I just looked her up and found that when she left the band 10,000 Maniacs in 1992 she was replaced by Mary Ramsay.
Now the afore-mentioned Maniacs and Mary Ramsay sang "Wildwood Flower" but it is not on any of Natalie Merchant's albums (not that I can find anyway!!) The site I found this information on is as follows......
http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=natalie+merchant

Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know...

best wishes, Yvonne

You can find this song on the 10,000 maniacs CD single 'You Happy Puppet'. It'll be hard to find, but it does exist.

Natalie Merchant recently released a CD of mostly old folk songs. It's on limited release only for the time being. It's called The House Carpenter's Daughter.

Just to be clear, Wildwood Flower is not on the CD I mentioned above. But it IS on the new 2CD set

10,000 Maniacs Campfire Songs: The Popular, Obscure, & Unknown Recordings

This is a collection of their b-sides, outtakes, etc. So that's why it's getting airplay, as this double CD is a recent release.

Oh, and to be even clearer, the version on Campfire Songs would have Natalie, not Mary, on vocals.
