I decided to replace my old LP album by Bill Staines called The Whistle Of The Jay with the CD.

I was very surprised to find that it costs $14.98 @ Folk Legacy but only $12.98 @ CDNOW.

I would have thought that the actual company would be cheaper than a web store. After all, there's one less layer taking a cut.

It may be worth noting that the CDNow price mentioned is a sale price. CDNow's list price for this CD is $16.98.

Hi, Angelina - if you buy a lot of CD's at Folk-Legacy (ten, I think), the price goes down a couple of bucks. I'd suggest you buy their "Golden Ring" and Bok-Muir-Trickett CD's. They may not always have loss-leader cheap prices, but thedir price is always fair and their service is great - and they're darn fine people. If you stick around here, you'll often find wise and interesting comments from Sandy Patonwho co-owns Folk-Legacy with his wife Caroline. Sandy used to collect traditional songs in Appalachia and in the British Isles, and some of his field recordings are vavailable on two CD's, "Songs and Ballads of Tradition" and "Brave Boys." I'd recommend both CD's highly.

you have to remember the size of the operation as well........ but I agree with Kendall.....Folk Legacy is worth supporting.... after all, Sandy took on my Farewell CD so mudcatters could purchase online with credit cards.....

.... and look at all the other artists they support as well...
