Subject: Bob Pegg From: GUEST,hudie Date: 27 Jan 01 - 08:24 PM Am seeking a book I use to own. It was a book about British seasonal customs (wassailing, pace egging, Guy Fawks burining, etc.) written by Bob Pegg. Can't remember title. Full length, hard cover book Had lots o' nice color illustrations and a number o' nice b&w ones, too. If someone has an' can copy for me, that would be great! and I could reimburse your bother and xpense. But knowing th name would allow me to make an inter-library loan request. Can't find in Books In Print. CAn't find Pegg on internet. I seem to remember it describing wassailing as something that was done to help the poor earn a little xtra money in the work-thin deep winter. Does this idea sound familiar to anyone? |

Subject: RE: Help: Bob Pegg From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 27 Jan 01 - 10:04 PM er... not sure, really. I did remember the book, and not buying it at the Remainder Shop when I had the chance, because I was broke. Mind you, it looks like I can get it for less now! Malcolm |
