... kinesiology, the science of human movement. I knew there was a good reason for visiting those dens of inequity when I was a young man.

In other news reflecting the current migration toward mass irresponsibility:

"Ok, so President Bush isn't supporting the Kyoto protocols, nor limits on carbon dioxide emissions, or negotiating with North Korea. He is, however, reports the WSJ, planning to launch an extended campaign to "revitalize baseball as the national pastime." The effort will include stops at major league and minor league and Little League games and a series of T-ball contests at the White House involving eight year olds and Cabinet members. "

and:

*Los Angeles Times Circulation Drops.* Yesterday's LAT contained the following "For the Record" item: "Poisonous mushroom--The mushroom identified as an edible bolete in this picture that ran on Page H3 of the Food section Wednesday is actually an amanita, which can be poisonous. It is most easily identified by a small ring midway down the stem."

You big dopes, you were so worried about yer damn style sheets you missed THIS opportunity:

"So he ordered her to turn in her Titan sweatsuit."

HELLO???? She's a STRIPPER???

That's where the real story ought to have been!

C'mon BG, give us a song about her removal of the sweatsuit. Remember? If it doesn't have a song in it, it's too grim?

*G*

And you Bert! How could you miss that one???

This is an extension of this thread which has grown over-long.

In other news it is always sad when a girl gives up running:

Thursday, March 29, 2001

Student Chooses Stripping Over Sports

FULLERTON, Calif. (Reuters) - A woman sophomore at the state college here did not have to think twice when her track coach gave her a choice between staying on the team or continuing to work as a stripper at a local night club.

As far as exotic dancer Leilani Rios is concerned, stripping pays the bills, allowing her to be the first member of her family to go to college and cross-country running for Cal State Fullerton is just exercise.

And that is the naked truth.

The coach, John Elders, in a statement issued Tuesday in this southern California city said he could not allow her to continue as a member of the Titans because "her decision to remain an exotic dancer would detract from the image and accomplishments of her teammates, the athletic department and the university."

So he ordered her to turn in her Titan sweatsuit.

Rios said the problem started when some months ago when members of the Cal State Fullerton baseball team dropped into the Flamingo Theater where she was performing and ultimately reported her to the coach. They were wearing Titan caps and sweaters while Rios said she did not have on any identifying clothing.

She added that she "had to choose work because that's paying for my school, which is more important than sports."

Rios is studying kinesiology, the science of human movement.

Meanwhile the coach of a team at a rival school said Rios should think of transferring. "I hate to see a girl give up on running," said Coach Matt Simpson of Golden West College in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Regards,

A
