Subject: RE: BS: Should women be chained to the stove? From: clansfolk Date: 20 Apr 01 - 05:40 AM We share the house work - Eileen cooks - I eat I make a mess - Eileen cleans it up - It works for me.
A friend went to the Doctor the other day said "I'm worried about the wife - I think she's dead"
What makes you think that said the doctor - my friend replied - "the sex is the same but the washing's piling up"! NB JOKE!!!!! - I wash, cook, shop and snore. Pete |
Subject: RE: BS: Should women be chained to the stove? From: GUEST,Roger the skiffler Date: 20 Apr 01 - 06:02 AM While in Wales over the Easter break we saw 2 cards on the same theme. One had a picture of an iron, one of a vaccum cleaner. They were headed: "A quiz for Welsh men" followed by:1)What is this?; 2) Where is it kept? ;3)What is it used for. Herself bought one to send to a work colleague who is married to a stereotypical Welsh rugby-playing MCP. She also bought one where the husband says to the wife: "Let's change roles tonight" and the wife replies: "Great, you do the ironing and I'll sit on the couch watching the tv and farting". (I have a feeling I'm going to get that one!) RtS |

Subject: RE: BS: Should women be chained to the stove? From: John P Date: 20 Apr 01 - 08:34 AM Guest Karen said: "I guess I was really wondering because my husband is pretty much the same. I'm expected to cook for the four of us when I get home from work. If I'm too tired he'll at least fix a meal for himself and the kids but NEVER for me!" Karen, who cares about some jerk at work? Why do you put up with this kind of shit in your home? You need to do some serious negotiation with the neandethal you married. If he won't play along, go on strike. Cook for yourself and the kids and let him fend for himself. I could understand it if you have some system worked out where he does other chores and you do the cooking, but you don't say that's the case. And to cook for himself and the kids but not for you is the action of a petty bully. John Peekstok |

Subject: RE: BS: Should women be chained to the stove? From: GUEST,Karen Date: 20 Apr 01 - 10:29 AM JohnP: I guess I put up with it because if I mention the unbalance in our jobs around the house I get the "eyes rolling, I'm being hen-pecked" attitude from him. He DOES do the yardwork and help with the kids but I'm pretty much the cook-grocer-clothes washer-house cleaner-bill payer. He's one of those "just let me know if you want me to do anything" types. He has to be asked to do anything around the house. For some unknown reason to me, he can't see if something is dirty and needs cleaning. He has to wait for me to tell him to clean it. But to give him credit he's great with the kids (just not much of a role model, in MY opinion)! Guest,MattR: let me see if I can find a chain that will hold more than one person. ;-] |
