Subject: Songcatcher-See the Movie From: GUEST,Meadow Muskrat Date: 17 Jun 01 - 09:04 PM I've just come back from seeing the movie Songcatcher, and recommend to anyone interested in traditional music.It takes place in 1907 western North Carolina in the Southrn Mtns. and features a musicologists attempt to catalog the old ballads of the area.the story and photography are great, and the soundtrack is incredible, with no-nonsense treatment of the songs.See it before its gone. |
