If Mudcat was a place would it be anywhere near Royston Vasey?

Obviously, it's a place with an inside, where all these obscure jokes are understood -- probably looks like the inside of a telly, eh?

Dunno about Royston Vasey, but that blind kid over there on the fence; isn't he playing the banjo?

The head of Salford councils Arts and leisure department used to be called Royston Footer. Is Royston Vasey related to him? If so I don't know where he went so Mudcat may or may not be near him...

BTW Mark Gatiss describes Royston vasey as 'It sounds like an ordinary town but with something wrong'. So I guess Mudcat would be pretty close;-)

Cheers

I thought Mudcat was in Hull or, dependent upon some of the other threads, in Hell.

Actually Hull is a lot like a big Royston Vasey or a very small Hell. We're only a vowel away!

I imagine that the small town of Mudcat as a very friendly little town; lovely climate; beautiful gardens; a very efficient library; lots of homes with well-loved pets; wonderful smells of cooking wafting from kitchens; nicely laid-out public parks with old-timers sitting on benches passing the time of day; welcoming hostelries with no electricity; a harbour with many small interesting boats.

Every so often some cheeky kids ride over from a neighbouring town, shouting out rude words. But we just ignore them.

Maybe in the Isle of Man, or is that Royston Vasey again?

Royston Vasey is the real name of Roy Chubby Brown (the foul mouthed "comic" who also plays the mayor of the town).

Would anyone like to buy some special stuff?

Bagpuss (how many killinnnnnnngggggs are there in that folk song????)

Mudcat as a place is where you are now as you read this. For me, it is also something in my heart that I take with me everywhere.

I'm sure you weren't looking for saccharin here, but that's just the way I feel.
