Record Lady has a new home and is up and running again, thanks to the people who contributed money so she could pay for web hosting. This is definitely a great site worth checking out.

Hi A1.....This came up the other day on another thread and I have never been able to get that clik to thing to work for me dammit. But after searching around a bit, I did find her thru Google at the what I believe is the new addy. Everything but the archives is up now it seems. If the "clik to" works for you, it's probably my server, but I'll blue clicky a direct link to the URL I have.

How do I get to the site where I can donate? So what if what used to be a free ride now costs a bit? If she gets it rather than the big boys great even if she has to share.

I don't find anything via Google that opens except for a couple of posts here at mudcat, and some old pages that appear all to be prior to sometime ca. 2004. Note that the last post on this thread (before the last question) was 5 years ago.

I believe we heard via an earlier thread here that she was being forced to shut down due to hassles over copyrights. It wasn't necessarily that she was violating any, but just that she couldn't afford to research every song she had up to prove a clear right to post them, as the recording industry lawyers apparently were demanding.

The links at the top of this thread are all 5 years old, and dead so far as I can tell.

Mudcat information:

The Record Lady's All-Time Country Favorites indicates she shut down ca.

A link to her message board is given in that thread (04 Aug 05 - 12:57 AM}

Something works at the Message Board, but it's obviously not the old site.

There is also an email addy (recldy (at)mail.com) but subsequent posts indicate no response to email.

Rose, the Record Lady just asks where she's gone, with no answers.

Record Lady or similar site? discusses some "alternatives" but nothing that's a real replacement.

Yes she did get back up and running for a while but was quieted down by the aforementioned lawyers.

Shhheeeshh ....Me thinks they don't like GOOD ol wholesome music as all over the web you can download (C)rap and so called music but they ALWAYS did do their best to hush Rose......
Hope she may re-appear under an alias like DR; Death (sure to let that name post music)....LOL
