The Record Lady's website is perhaps the most comprehensive collection of Bluegrass and older CountryWestern music to be found anywhere. Her extended library of songs from the 20's to the 70's is indeed a treasure trove that resurrects memories for many of us. Rose, the benefactor, has over 4000 hits a week but is experiencing financial difficulty maintaining the site because only the same few steadfast and loyal followers are making the donations required to keep it afloat. This lady goes to great lengths to provide the music and assistance necessary to keep things running smoothly. If you haven't visited, please do and enjoy but above all else please make a contribution to help sustain and support this wonderfully unique resource while there is still time!

Invest in a second HD, or burn two mp3 CDs. It ain't great...but she has put together a nice collection.

"Clone" it like google and I and 50,000 others have....it will be your's until the next electron-bomb.....

The times they are a changin'....if it ain't a hobby...or it ain't competitive commercial....grab quick while the gettin is good....from what pye says...the site is goin down for the third time.

YES, the "Record Lady" needs help to keep her site online...it's been that way since October of 2001...thanks to a very FEW of my listeners (who have cared enough to help out), folks like "gargoyle" have been able to download every one of the close to 5000 songs that are now on my site...but what folks like "gargoyle" don't realize is that the songs on my site are NOT EVEN THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG in what I am capable of providing...and NO, "gargoyle" I am "NOT GOING DOWN FOR THE THIRD TIME"...(Has "gargoyle" ever contributed to the cost of my site?...I doubt it.)

"advertising space"?? give me a break!....Rose provided all this TOTALLY free for several years when the internet boom provided free web space. She simply cannot afford hundreds of dollars a month for several gigabytes of space.

As for Max, he is in the same basic situation.....he provides a service which was once supported by his business, and now relies on some donations to keep the database and 6+ years of postings alive.

It is a fact that if even 20% of the people who use Mudcat or Rose's site gave just a few dollars a year, there would be no problem keeping them going.

Neither Rose nor Max profit from any of this...they just feel that what they do is worth it. If not enough others feel that way, it will all eventually go away...that simple.

(gargoyle's posts are at least sort of honest...he feels that "once I got mine, who cares what happens"....but his implication that pyewacket and Rose and 'guest' are somehow in collusion is silly BS!)

nope..wayback has nothing. There is precious little info about her now...only old links and comments in forums. What I remember is that she moved, then decided to move BACK, and had a car/trailer accident that damaged a lot of her collection, then had her right to post the music challenged in court, then just gave up fighting the bureaucracy.

Sneaky old me downloaded most of what she had 3-4 years ago, as did many others...or maybe it was 5 years. Anyway, her legacy lives on.

Rose's site is now basically a bulletin board operation
with lyrics and audio files by request.

Rose "Has left the building" but various visitors to the
site thru the years have downloaded much of the contents
which are available upon request.
