Anyone that has ever been to Bean Blossum, knows there were less than a dozen Port-A-Johns at the Festival sight, a sight with a Festival Going Crowd of Thousands. At least this was how is was when I went in 1988. This was a great T-shirt and I would love to have it. Should it, could it, be found in new unsoiled condition. Dewey |

I would be willing to bet that any one of us could take small glass vials, gather some sand from our local beach or lakefront, label them as being sand upon which (insert any historical name here) walked, and somebody somewhere will buy them!! Just go visit your local flea market for an example. I bet I could scoop up our dog's yard deposits and package them with some clever name and find a buyer!! |

I got to meet Roy Acuff, who at the time was aged about two hundred, and who as I recall had been given a specially-built house in the Opry complex. 'That's nice', I said, naively. 'No', said the agent who told me about it. 'They're just waiting for him to die, so they can turn it straight into a museum with all his possessions there, ready to show off...' (As it happens, I met Mr. Monroe there that night - had I thought about it, I could have asked for his tie. Or perhaps his Y-fronts....) - Ian B

Check this out over on e-Bay.........The Bill Monroe Necktie It's friggin' unbelievable.....And I see it sold for $129.00......and it looks like a cheap $3.00 tie to begin with! What's next? Is he gonna' peddle off Daddy's underwear too? Here's a pair of u-trou that Bill Monroe wore on the stage at the Opry on numerous occasions. My Daddy wore boxers almost exclusively in his later years, but he still had a few pair of jockeys that he liked to use when he played the Opry because he believed they made him sing a bit higher. It's believed that he purchased these as part of a three-pack of BVD brand at the JC Penney store in Rivergate in Nashville in the fall of 1967. They've been authenticated by Bill's personal laundress and you can see the BM in the back. I'll enclose my personal note of approval written on the very toilet paper that Daddy had in his bathroom when he last took a dump. Sincerely, James Monroe, Bill's son.
