Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: kendall Date: 02 Jan 02 - 04:37 PM Some years ago I sang Gordon Bok's HEARTH & FIRE at a wedding. They loved it. |

Best Wishes!! |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: GUEST,bbc at work Date: 02 Jan 02 - 12:03 PM What great news! I'm happy for you! Wonder if we might make it up to see you? Any excuse to visit the great state of Maine! love, Barbara |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 02 Jan 02 - 11:40 AM Actually, Mary, at the last chanty party I bought a new hat! It's clean and white and completely acceptable in all venues and social gatherings. Of course, I refuse to wear it until it has some break in time. I have to tread on it for a while and the cat has to add her contribution. For the wedding I will break from my traditional garb of jeans and Tee-shirt and wear a shirt with buttons. Rebecca says she may wear a dress. Charley, you can keep your collection of sqigglies! I don't need to increase my ownership of material objects just before my move to Europe. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Bat Goddess Date: 02 Jan 02 - 11:30 AM Heartfelt and joyful congratulations, Brett! I think while you were hinting around, I hinted at congrats in a PM, but here it is, unhinted, very sincere and right in front of God and everybody. It'll be easy for Tom and I to remember your "Other Anniversary" (you ARE going to celebrate Dec. 14th, too, aren't you?), as well, because our "Other Anniversary" is Dec. 15 (double anniversary of when we met and a year later decided to get married). Actually, you're one up on us -- we skipped the asking part and just found ourselves planning the par-- I mean, wedding. It's gonna be a GREAT year all around! Linn |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Melani Date: 02 Jan 02 - 11:21 AM Congratulations! What a great way to start the New Year! |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 02 Jan 02 - 10:36 AM Brett! How wonderful! Ain't love grand? |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Charley Noble Date: 02 Jan 02 - 10:31 AM Notice, Brett, how considerate your pals in Roll & Go have been not to break this story. I, for example, haven't even posted a song in honor of the proposed event, but maybe it's time to muse... "Ol' horse, ol' horse, what brought you here?"..."You can lead a horse to water but you can't grow moss on his back"...Well, I'm sure I'll think of something appropriate for such a charming couple...Would you like a set of "squigglies" for a wedding present?;~) |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: GUEST,PeteBoom (at work) Date: 02 Jan 02 - 10:07 AM Congrats! Best of luck to you both! (Uh, Mick? let me know if you plan on going..... ;-) |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: SINSULL Date: 02 Jan 02 - 09:08 AM Informal, Brett? Damn! You're gonna wear that hat, aren't you? At least now I know what will make the perfect wedding gift. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 02 Jan 02 - 09:07 AM Willie-O, yeah, that could be tempting fate but the kid can go live with her mother if she doesn't go off to college. Of course, she sees that as a fate worse than death. Pat, thanks for posting that New Year's Resolution thing. I had forgotten all about it. I missed on the weight loss part of it but seem to have hit the mark on the others. All in all 2001 was a pretty good year. Rebecca is concerned at who might show up if I invite my Mudcat friends but how could I not invite you all. As we know, when 'catters gather they turn out NOT to be internet crazies but respectable, talented, and caring people. Our chosen marriage site is big enough to host any and all who show up and I have confidence that this bunch will be well represented. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: bigchuck Date: 02 Jan 02 - 08:09 AM Hearty congratulations and best wishes to you both Brett. Dunno if I can make the wedding, but I'd love to. I am still a batchelor, but if Kendall is the treasure, I'm probably best considered the booby prize.....shut up Peter. Sandy |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Willie-O Date: 02 Jan 02 - 02:30 AM Many congratulations Brett. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. One word of caution. Saying something like, along the lines of, just by example picked out of the clear blue sky, "My last daughter goes off to college in August ..." when you're about to get hitched, is what they call tempting fate, my friend. Nah, I don't mean anything by that. Your pal Willie-O |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: catspaw49 Date: 01 Jan 02 - 11:54 PM Brett, first let me also wish you the very best. As you can see we are all very happy for you and I'm sure the two of you are in for a fine life. Though we've never met 3D, I am a believer in the words that are expressed here and most times I'm right in the feelings I have. Karen is a big time lurker....has always been a lurker....and her opinions rarely are too far wrong. She has always thought of you as one of the finest people around here.....You're very much a favorite of hers. Both of us could not be happier that something great has come your way......You deserve it! I saw awhile back that you made a brief mention of this in another thread and a few days ago I started a thread about last year's resolutions....Click Here and read my first post on the thread and if you want, go and see what you said. Most of us aren't too good at keeping resolutions but I believe that last year you won first prize! Nice when a dream comes true.......... All the Best, Pat and Karen |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: kendall Date: 01 Jan 02 - 10:35 PM Back home there was an old man (82) who was getting married for the first time. His buddy asked him why he waited so long, and he said"If you get a good one, she's worth waiting for, and, if you get a bad one, you dont have long to live with her." |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 01 Jan 02 - 10:10 PM Thanks all. We are very happy with each other. And we each have a happy disregard for most marriage customs. If you make it to the wedding you will find the atmosphere casual and the fun infectious. There is very little you might associate with a formal wedding except that we love one another and want to spend the rest of our lives together. And we want our friends to witness this event. Bill, I will keep that base at Menwith Hill in mind. England would be our first choice not only for the music but also because we have a head start on learning the language. (Grin!) Oh! And because I would really enjoy the work. Yeah! that's it, the work! |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: GUEST,Brían Date: 01 Jan 02 - 09:42 PM Well, we've all been waiting for the formal announcement. We are all looking forward to the big event. Make sure and keep this thread fresh. I don't know who's gonna fill your shoes in Roll & Go. I was wondering what we're gonna do without ya here in NE, but, heck, maybe we'll all come over and visit ya! Brían |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: DougR Date: 01 Jan 02 - 08:25 PM Congratulations Naemanson! One good thing I found about getting married on July 14, as that was our wedding date too, is it is easy to remember anniversaries. Just remember that it's also Bastille Day! DougR |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: kendall Date: 01 Jan 02 - 08:20 PM I sincerely wish you both the very best. 'course I'll be there. The field is narrowing, I might end up being the last available bachelor! Who else is an unclaimed treasure besides Doug R. and me? |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Sorcha Date: 01 Jan 02 - 06:22 PM WOW!! Let me be the first to congratulate you Brett! What with Joe getting hitched too, we're running out of eligible bachelors around the place!! Have fun man! |
Subject: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 01 Jan 02 - 06:20 PM Well, I have been hinting at it for a while but I had to make sure the word got to others first, including my kids. As you may have noticed I have not been much in evidence lately. Back at the beginning of August I met a lovely woman. We began dating and on December 14, 2001, while waiting for Harry Potter to start, she turned to me and asked me to marry her. I said "yes". So we will tie the knot in a huge music party and gathering on July 14 at Camp Ketcha in Scarborough, Maine. If you want to attend you may start planning now. This could be a good Mudcat gathering. This is only the first in a number of major changes in my life. My last daughter goes off to college in August and by Christmas my wife and I hope to be living and working somewhere in Europe. I haven't decided where, and I am not really fussy. I work for the US Government and will do so there so it will be in conjunction with military bases, NATO facilities, or the State Department. Wish me luck. It's going to be a wonderful year. |
