Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 04 Dec 02 - 07:35 PM Remember -- you CAN have all these CDs in YOUR home, and they use LESS FUEL THAN A HONDA!!! They do not litter the living room, need diapers, smell up the Cat box or wake their owners up in the middle of the night. Can't BEAT em!!! :>) A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Tweed Date: 04 Dec 02 - 07:32 PM Amos, Dick Greenhaus, and Bill\Sables. The wording's been changed for the UKer's per your requests. Any other updates? Let me know, as it ain't a problem. Yerz, Tweed That link one more time! Jeez, I feel like I've somehow fallen into a cyber fund raiser for NPR ;~) |

Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: treewind Date: 04 Dec 02 - 01:29 PM I'm waiting..... And I've posted a mention on uk.music.folk, for what it's worth. And I 'm jealous of those who've got theirs already (in another thread...) Anahata |

Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: bill\sables Date: 04 Dec 02 - 10:33 AM To all UK catters, Dick decided that it would be better for him to send the CD's directly to individuals because to send a batch to me might have incured import charges, VAT, etc. As stated above Dick will take credit cards but if you want to pay by cheque in £ sterling it would be easier to go throuhg me. either PM me or drop me an email at bilsbls@aol.com Cheers Bill |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 04 Dec 02 - 10:01 AM The world is cold, A winter's breeze Chills the heart And spirits freeze.... Brighten lives? MUDCAT CDs!! A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: treewind Date: 04 Dec 02 - 08:03 AM What wasn't clear, and still isn't from your re-wording, is that (apparently) Dick Greenhaus is still mailing out all the CD's himself. I sent Bill a cheque in sterling because I thought he was distributing the CD's for UK purchasers - but I've just had a PM from Bill to say the money has arrived and Dick will be sending me the CD's. In that case all I needed to do was send my CC number to Dick in the first place. Oh well - I'll go and post something to umf anyway. Oh and I like the banner - I'll put in a link to that! Anahata |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: alison Date: 04 Dec 02 - 12:36 AM OK... here's how it worked from OZ... so the UK should be the same... Dick can take credit card orders... but NOT via a secure server... so you send your credit card details broekn down and split between a few emails..... and he'll sort it out from there... slainte alison |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 03 Dec 02 - 08:25 PM Here's what Dick says about ordfering info: It doesn't matter whether you order from CAMSCO or from Bill Sables. It's just that Bill can accept cheques in pounds and CAMSCO can't while CAMSCO takes credit cards and Bill doesn't. The language should be modified to say "UK residents wishing to pay using cheques in Sterling may do so by contacting Bill Sable by PM to bill\sables or email to bilsbls@aol.com. CAMSCO cannot process cheques in Sterling or other international currencies. Do not send credit card orders to Bill, as he cannot process them. Any order using credit card may be communicated directly to CAMSCO by phone, PM, email or letter." |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Tweed Date: 03 Dec 02 - 08:05 PM How about (when you get the chance) send me a list of ALL contributors and mebbe we could put a credits page to go with the one that's started now. Hey Boberdz! Here's that banner you wanted;~) The Mud Banner If any of the rest of the websters out there want to swipe it and put it on your sites, please feel free to. I got it at the top of the Tweedboard even now. Yerz, Tweed |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 03 Dec 02 - 06:07 PM Well, that is a pretty big "only" Homeless, and LEJ, forgive me for not mentioning your stellar contribution to the success of the projhect. I am totally stoked that this is coming off at last! Thanks to everyone who chimed in with ideas, songs, and so many other kinds of action to make it a reality!! A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Homeless Date: 03 Dec 02 - 06:05 PM And another from the Credit-where-it's due Dept.: The idea for the graphics came from LEJ, and it was thru his descriptions and feedback that I built the (virtual) set. It was his vision - I only supplied the tools, and sent the final rendering to michaelr. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 03 Dec 02 - 05:21 PM I believe Bill was also managing bulk distribution rather than shipping individual orders across to UK, but that was set up between Dick and Bill. Anyone who wishes to order directly through CAMSCO may do so, I imagine -- if Dick wants route the deliveryt hrough Bill he can do so-- it's just that Dick doesn't want checks in quids. Most credit cards handle exchanges automatically in processing the charges. Dick? A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Joe Offer Date: 03 Dec 02 - 05:11 PM Yeah, that's a bit unclear. Usually, Dick handles credit card orders from anywhere, and the only problem is when somebody wants to send a cheque/check. The wording inmplies that all UK orders should go throeug Bill Sables, and I don't think that's the case. Can somebody check that with Amos or Dick and get a clarification? Ordinarily, the number of cheques may be small, and there wouldn't be any need for provisions for those few non-Mudcatters who are unwilling to use credit cards. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: treewind Date: 03 Dec 02 - 10:55 AM A thought occurs: What happens if a British non-mudcatter wants to order a CD? The web site says PM Bill\Sables, which doesn't mean anything to the uninitiated. I believe a GUEST can't send/receive a PM, and Bill's email and snail mail addresses don't seem to be published. (this is in anticipation of posting a message to the newsgroup uk.music.folk, which would seem sensible thing to do but not until simple ordering instructions are available) Of course I have Bill's address but he may not want it advertised outside the 'cat... Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 03 Dec 02 - 09:50 AM There's a little arts ship in Jerome, AZ which is contemplating selling them as an impulse item. We'll see. Someone sent the information out to the librarian's league, too, I believe... My secret vision is to make a camp underground fad out of them!! Thusthe really in-crowd, the super-hip, will be those who know what "Mudcat CDs" are and have the whole set! Penthouses in New York and LA will be grooving to the rhythm of Kendall, Rick, Jed, and MMario!! Far OUT!! :>) A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: MMario Date: 03 Dec 02 - 09:38 AM I know someone who does NOT post here who has already e-mailed the ordering info to all her relatives with a big hint she would like them for Christmas. The Word is spreading.... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 03 Dec 02 - 09:34 AM Thanks, Anahata! Hey, all the exposure we can get, right? (As th man said when he pulled back his raincoat....). A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: treewind Date: 03 Dec 02 - 03:53 AM I didn't post it earlier because I couldn't see the point - anyone on this thread knows where to go for the CD's anyway, and it wasn't meant to be an opportunity for shameless self-promotion - I've maybe done enough of that recently. Still, for the terminally curious, it's http://www.treewind.co.uk The Mudcat CD links are only a bit of text - don't get too excited... I suppose I could put links on the 'duo' pages too. Anahata |

Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: michaelr Date: 02 Dec 02 - 08:56 PM From the Credit-where-it's due Dept.: The artwork you see behind the track listings, as well as a very nice piece which you can't see until you open your CD, was done by Spartacus. Thanks, man! Cheers, Michael |

Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Joe Offer Date: 02 Dec 02 - 12:38 AM Reggie, I saw your message and couldn't think of what to do at the time - but I think it planted the seed of the idea. This thread gave a bit more of a push so I got the banner up, and then Tweed did a remarkable job of the advertising page. I've put a link to Tweed's page on the banner, and everything is pretty darn classy. A remarkable group effort, wouldn't you say? -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: katlaughing Date: 02 Dec 02 - 12:05 AM Sorry, on second thought I won't be able to put tunes up on my site. Tweed, you have done an oustanding job, thanks, again! |

Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Tweed Date: 01 Dec 02 - 11:28 PM Thanks back atcha Charcloth! And for all you song contributors who wanta see what your name looks like on the back of a real CD liner that link again is: The MudCat CD Sampler I've been gawking at the back of Plum (best of the lot IMHO) for hours now and still can't believe my eyes! What the hell will the folks back home think? Place your orders and get some great stocking stuffers. Lots of music on a first edition set. Think of it as if it were the new Library of Congress recordings, except ol' Amos collected us with a computer instead of a record machine in the trunk (boot) of car like Lomax did.;~) Yerz, Tweed (the plummer) |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Charcloth Date: 01 Dec 02 - 11:04 PM Great Job!! This sure helps for those of us who have had a bit of trouble keeping up. Way to go! Thanks |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 01 Dec 02 - 10:07 PM Aw, reggie, man, don't take it personal -- great ideas go right over people's heads the first time out of the box!! It just needed some repeating!! A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: reggie miles Date: 01 Dec 02 - 09:54 PM Hmmmm?? I suggested this same thing on another thread here and it got so small a response that I felt guilty for bringing it up, like I was makin' a complaint or somethin', but then again I don't know diddly about how to create this cyber stuff. Good for you Tweed. You've done just what was needed. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: MMario Date: 01 Dec 02 - 08:03 PM Looking good! |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: katlaughing Date: 01 Dec 02 - 07:57 PM IF Jeff or Max can't get anything up in the next day or two, I could put a few sound clips on my site. I haven't come anywhere near to using up all of my space and I learned how to do just that not too long ago. Looks really good, TweedBro! |

Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 01 Dec 02 - 07:31 PM Guest Mick: Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have the time or resources to put samples up, but if you want to approach it conservatively, you could order one CD and see how you liked it. Maybe Dick would let you apply it tothe package proce for the other four if you decided to follow through within a certain amoutnof time, or something. I would suggest Orchid if you want to start with one. That's just MHO. Or you could just choose based on the play lists at the web site linked above -: - (http://tweedsblues.net/mudcd/mudcatcd.html) Regards, A |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Tweed Date: 01 Dec 02 - 06:55 PM Mick, I'd put some sound clips up from my site but they take up a huge amount of room and I'm approaching my 100 meg limit. But you can check the playlists out from this link. The Mudcat CD AdPage complements of TweedTower's Industries.;~) Hey Kat! Forget about keeping that link under your hat. Amos already let it out;~) Still tuning it a little and should have something a little better, but at least you can see what they look like. And as Amos sez....FLOOD DICK!!! Send piles of money and make this thing work. Max or Pene, if I've done wrong by placing the Mudcat logo on that thing let me know. I would've asked permission but sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness. Anyhow, let me know if you'd rather I didn't use it. Yerz, Tweed |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: GUEST,Mick Greenham Date: 01 Dec 02 - 06:30 PM Amos, It would be really nice if we could have 30 second real audio clips of some of the songs. $60 is a lot to pay for site unseen. Mick |
Subject: RE: Mudcat CD Banner ?? From: Amos Date: 01 Dec 02 - 06:14 PM Oh!! And let me add that the time is ripe for you to FLOOD DICK WITH YOUR ORDERS!!! DON'T DELAY!!
