I'm looking for the lyrics to this song--I think it's by the Limelighters but maybe not.

You can find it in the database. I did. The Limeliters did perform on their album TONIGHT: IN PERSON The Limeliters. You can find the CD No. 2272-2-R RCA at Tower Records. Craig

That's Flanders and Swann, not just Limelighters. The folks who brought us all those wonderful songs. Mud, glorious mud, the seasons, La Nuit Ennui, oh, do a search on their names, DT or web, and see what they added to the culture. Blessings, Barbara

I saw Tony Randall do a fine recitation of this piece on some TV show many years ago (before VCRs). I have the words (Limelighters version) on file. Give me a day or so to dig them up and post them.

Yes, Flanders and Swann are wonderful. I'm particularly fond of "The Gasman Cometh".

No need to dig - the words are on the DT. Search for "Madeira".

I think I can remember the Kingston Trio doing it in the late 50s
