It's almost that time of year again. So who else is going to this little festival . Lots of fun, good beer, good company and Andy Jackson's own inimitable brand of mayhem!

Brenda and I will be there, since we're going to stay with friends in the area on the thursday, attending the Newport FC that evening(With Bill McKinnon), and then on to the Festival for the weekend. Can't wait!!!!!
It's the first festival of the season for us, cos we couldn't make Crediton this year so we're looking forward to meeting old friends, and making some new ones.

Beds? Really? well that puts a whole different perspective on the matter (much better for the poorly back) - maybe I ought to broach the subject with the other half? He could come too & go treasure hunting when he gets folked-out :-) When do people go & come back?

Andy tells me there are no bunks left so I guess it's the floor, on a trusty air mattress ( which isn't very trusty as it happens...might be time for a new one)....but at least there isn't so far to fall :) Do come,Hil, I'm dying to meet you!

Oh Morticia - if it's the floor I don't know if I can do Miskin - my poor old back complained a lot despite the very lovely airbed provided by Jude at Crediton.

Blast! And I do so want to meet / hear you too!!! If I can't work this one out I'm sure we'll bump into each other somewhere else :-) Glad you're getting to Miskin though!!!!

We are hoping to get to Miskin but a lot will depend on being able to drag Mick out to buy a camper before then. I didn't fare too well on the diabetic front at Crediton as far as meals were concerned. I don't think I could manage 4 days of it.

Well folks, not sure if it's the lure of the harmony snoring in the indoor camping or the selection of drinks & nibbles but am going to be joining you all at Miskin - I can't wait *grin*

Hubby's coming too but will probably be off doing his own thing most of the time so hopefully he won't get too 'folked-out' & will be able to enjoy the evenings with us at least :-)

Looking forward to meeting old, young & new friends!!!

For those who like 'rounds' (and I'm not referring to beer), the local version of "Campfire's burning" which I have heard frequently at Miskin since I first camped there in the 1950s:

Come to Miskin; Come to Miskin:
For a wetting, For a wetting:
Rain, Rain; Rain, Rain;
And still more to follow (or 'and still more tomorrow')

Enjoy Miskin y'all and I'll see many of you in the White Lion (or horse, or some white animal anyway) at Upton.

Well, I expect Hawker is there by now :-)

I'm restraining myself (I'm so excited) & we're not setting off till tomorrow - hoping to get there mid-afternoon, traffic permitting!

Where will everyone gather?
Is there an HQ?
Will I get lost?

Safe journeys everyone!

Guru: little chance of getting lost. Look at the small map in 'how to find us' at the site in the first message. Zoom out slightly (2 bars to the left (towards the minus) and you will see the map showing the M4 (Junction 34). From there take the road signposted for 'Llantrisant' and after one set of traffic lights Miskin is signposted to your left. Just follow the road through.
The original map is not centred on the Miskin Arms which is at the junction immediately below the 'n' of Miskin. The Scout campsite (the Mill & The Cottage) are slightly further down the road to the left of the Miskin Arms. over the railway bridge, and the carpark is to the left before the river bridge.
After the Miskin Arms, take it slowly as the road is single car/van width to cross the railway, followed by a sharp left hand bend, so oncoming traffic is only seen at the last moment!

CHEERS
Nigel

I left shortly after midnight Saturday (early Sunday) and the singing in 'Nellie Dean's' was still going strong, but I had an offer of a lift for the 10 miles home!
Sunday I had church and family commitments, but I might pop back today to check if all the beer is gone
