Subject: Lyr Req: She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain From: GUEST,whitmer Date: 02 Jul 03 - 12:23 PM I heard a version of this song in Belize with slightly different lyrics, namely: "she'll be comin' 'round the mountain when she [unknown word].' I know in the Caribbean the word 'reach' would often be used in this case (i.e. 'when did you reach?' meaning, 'when did you arrive [in town]') but I don't think this was word used in this case - I just plain don't remember to be honest. Anyone have any ideas? |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain From: GUEST,Q Date: 02 Jul 03 - 02:24 PM Caribbean dialects vary according to peoples, locality and history. Belizeans mostly speak what they call Creole (there are several dialects hiding under this word). Just hope someone who has experience in Belize picks up on this. |
