I knew someone who called his Cedric... the female equivelant was Jemima.

We have to be caredful, with a 7 yr old who has spongelike memory and ears that would shame a bat..... willies is about the most risque we dare... she wanted to know, at the age of 3, were they useful......

She asked me in the middle of a crowd of testosterone charged men, on their way to a football match on a Saturday afternoon, and she shouted it to make sure I heard it!

I'm afraid we stick with minnie for ladies parts now.

Husband no. three used to call his his wriggler, I suppose because it did look a little like a worm.....

Isn't it strange that men seem to need to give names to the poor little things more than women do. anybody got any ideas why????

My God-Daughter when she was about 3 years old refered to her girlie parts as a mary. One day her mum and a few of us were sat down having coffee when Jasmine proclaimed at the top of her little voice "I've had a bath with Mummy today and she has a hairy mary" well of course we all asked what she was talking about, so she showed everyone hers......the innocense of children!!!

As small children, everyone I knew had names for their genitalia, usually something boringly simple like "willie" or "tail" for the boys, but the girls parts got far more exotic names like "fairy", "foo-foo", "tuppence" or "twinkle".
I must confess to having something of a problem using the word "vagina" to my six year-old (I'm not sure why), but equally I can't stand all that "front-bottom/back-bottom" nonsense!
Fortunately it's not a regular topic of conversation at our dinner table (yet).

when we were small our Mum referred refered to my brother's penis as his "little whistle". Come to think of it now, the reference gives a whole other dimension to the term "whistle blower".

Never used any euphamisms for genitals, male or female, in our adult life in our own family.

Used to work with a woman whose family referred to male thingies as Poochies, and female thingies as Chickens. She didn't know why, the tags had come down through her mom's family for at least three generations. After working with her for many years, and being a sort of aunt to her daughter, I still think of those appelations. Sometimes, I still burst into a braying laugh when an innocent context conjures up the absurd image. "Her chicken had not been adequately plucked," comes to mind.

A sports writer with whom we worked had an annoying habit of constantly (and, I DO mean constantly) adjusting, lifting, moving, feeling, his privates through his clothing. He became known within local media (and police) circles as the "poochie plucker."

Actually I don't have a name for my thingie, would you believe that? When I was much younger, I called it John Thomas because I thought there was something vaguely literary about imitating Lawrence's game keeper. Ridiculous affectation, since I didn't honestly even know what a game keeper really was!! :>) And I had a girlfriend when I was in my late teens who called it Pegoo, which I thought sounded like a character out of Melville.
