Well now that's just some story about Dwight Yorke speeding. Even when I searched for a Hull story it sent me back there. Perhaps they've found some way of keeping the truth from us.

We are a city of interesting smells, though. Though at least the rotting piles of fishheads I grew up with are no more.

Precis - A poll of Hul9 residents voted Hull "the crappiest town in the UK, and mentioned the smell of the choclate factory. (or was it laxetive factory ?)

Ah that would be it then. Personally I think it is a great place. If people only lifted their heads when walking around the city they would see some amazing architecture. Ok so there is the occasional smell, but it isnt fish anymore and as for the chocolate factory - that smell is very localised and it remindes me of when I was a kid and mum would be baking a chocolate cake its not at all offensive!

Thanks Guest for finding this story for us. The BBC puts a bit better spin on the story - but having recently spent copious amounts of dosh on a regional broadcast centre they would say that, wouldn't they?
