Well, yesterday I finished work on How to Be a Hero, my first major website design customer.

There's still some things to fix and some things to do, but it's a job well done. It's great to have something out there of this scale that proves that even though I'm sick a lot, I can still work when it's on my own terms.

The site is for a project based on the Quest for Glory computer game series and involves a writer who is collaborating with the original designer of that series. This thing is going to be HUGE.

The main part of the site is a test that determines which heroic type you are. I'm a Paladin, with Wizard a close second.

Heyasirepseh, I took the test and when I got to the last question, it said "please wait, loading" and then took me the American Bar Assoc. website www.aba.org! Otherwise, it looks good, though I thought the listings at the top of the page were links, too. How do I find out what I am?**bg**

I'm a Wizard but only a point between that and Paladin. We definitely need more Rogues and Warriors. (Who'd of thought that Mudcat was short on Rogues? Go figure.)

I have to go and Discover something. Something = anything, apparently. I was thinking a recipe for chocolate pecan pie, but I think it's been done.

Maybe a chocolate pecan praline cream pie ... would that count as a discovery?

It's a good thing I use my powers for good and not evil, because quite frankly, I could get away with murder. I'm clever, tricky, and charming. I know how to make you laugh with one hand and pick your pocket with the other. Not that I'd ever DO that, of course...

Hmmm, well, don't choose "litigate" 'cause it happened again when I did!

Anyway, skewing it to suit my fancy, I wound up being a Wizard, so watch out! I'll wave my magic wand and turn you all into toads! Oh, wait, there's more of us? Oops, which one of us is on Magic Wand Duty, today?

That was fun, sirepseh, thanks. Just a couple of suggestions: the drop down menu items when filling in the membership info are a bit difficult to read with the green on black. Also, on the test itself, I would have preferred more WOMEN to choose from as most admired fictional character and other characters as choices for some of the other questions.

All in all, though, good job!

Minstrel - perhaps, however it's the best way of getting signups ever invented, and you don't have to receive news if you don't want to. So, it works.

When I filled in the details to register, I tried to get my results. I tried logging in. All I get no matter what I do is messages saying either "incorrect login" or "sorry no membership details were found" I've gone through the whole process twice now and I seem to get stuck in a loop. Also, I can't get back to Mudcat with the back button. I have to close the site and log onto Mudcat again.

What am I doing wrong?

I had the same problem so I asked for a new password and got an e-mail with it in and then "Robert was my parent's sibling". (Sorry non-Oz folk, you won't get that convoluted reference to a well-know Oz saying.)
