Subject: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: Bill D Date: 11 Nov 03 - 07:46 PM it seems there is someone with money who is working to defeat Bush! Washington Post article (first 2 paragraphs) "NEW YORK -- George Soros, one of the world's richest men, has given away nearly $5 billion to promote democracy in the former Soviet bloc, Africa and Asia. Now he has a new project: defeating President Bush. "It is the central focus of my life," Soros said, his blue eyes settled on an unseen target. The 2004 presidential race, he said in an interview, is "a matter of life and death." too bad $$$$ alone will not do it...we still need to think & vote... |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: Ebbie Date: 11 Nov 03 - 07:55 PM Ah, but, Bill D, as we know, money talks. There are people in this country who will 'vote only for the winner'- people who equate money with the winning side. With the millions that the Resident is piling up, it is excellent publicity when a man like Soros puts his money where his mouth is, as he said. Judging by some I know, a great many people in this country are uncaring and uninvolved but who still go to the polls. Name recognition and what bits of news have filtered through to them will govern where they put their little black mark. It won't be long before it becomes fairly clear as to who the Democratic candidate will be, and then we can really get to work. |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: Peace Date: 11 Nov 03 - 08:03 PM Bush isn't the one to worry about. It's those behind him. The new MJ 12 crew are really scary. They want the whole world, not just the USA. Keep that in focus, please! Partisan politics don't mean squat anymore. We no longer have the luxury of voting the way mom and dad did. There is too much at stake. |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: Alice Date: 11 Nov 03 - 08:07 PM George Soros and Peter Lewis will match money you donate to Moveon.org's advertising campaign. ------------- "...this campaign to expose President Bush has attracted the attention of some heavy hitters. Today, George Soros and Peter Lewis, two of the country's leading philanthropists, have announced their strong support of our effort. They've pledged to match every dollar given by those of us in the grassroots with 50 cents of their own. In other words, if we raise $10 million, they'll put in another $5 million. Please help however you can. Remember, every dollar you give today will be matched with 50 cents from George Soros and Peter Lewis. You can give online at the links below: By credit card: https://www.moveonvoterfund.org/donate/creditcard.html?id=2110-1293870-UloTHTLiOJzcZH8DHjp4lQ By check: https://www.moveonvoterfund.org/donate/check.html?id=2110-1293870-UloTHTLiOJzcZH8DHjp4lQ (Check contributions cost us processing time and money, so credit card contributions are preferred if possible.) ------------------- |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: Don Firth Date: 11 Nov 03 - 09:10 PM But brucie, if Bush is defeated in 2004, his whole administration goes out with him. That means Cheney, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz, Perle, Rove, and the rest of the Rogues' Gallery. That, of course, doesn't mean they won't be snarling, plotting, attempting character assassination (as they did against Clinton), and trying to claw and finagle their way back in again, but at least that will slow them. This will give those with a bit less greed and testosterone poisoning (and I include Condy Rice and Ann Coulter in that) a chance to try to get things back on track and maybe even not screw up (miracles do happen sometimes). If, on the other hand, Bush gets re-elected in 2004 (even by foul means, such as a repeat of the 2000 Florida caper or with the help of the no paper-trail Diebold touch-screen voting machines), the neo-Cons will undoubtedly take it as a mandate from the American people and redouble their efforts to plunge this country into a Dark Age of fascist feudalism. (I know, Doug. "The sky is falling.") By the way, brucie, not to drift the thread, but I've tried to google my way to some information on this MJ-12 business that you keep mentioning and all I seem to be able to come up with are some web sites that read like old "X-Files" scripts. Now, I'm not closed minded about the existence of other intelligent life forms in the universe. In fact, I think it's highly likely. And although I'm highly skeptical of most of what I hear about UFOs, I'm always open to reasonable discussion on any subject. Can you steer me to a web site or two so I can get an idea of what you are referring to? Don Firth |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: Bobert Date: 11 Nov 03 - 10:45 PM Hey, Bill, this one flew under the bobert/radar... When given that in the last election the canidate with the most money won the election.... this is a biggie... It;s gonna take at least 52% votin' for the Dems to win when you factor in the "Corrupt/Repub" and lots of folks who promise to deliver the vote to Repubs who have been hired to run elections. No, make that more like 53% or 54% to get the thives out! Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: GUEST,pdc Date: 12 Nov 03 - 01:00 AM I reiterate Don Firth's request: does MJ12 stand for something? I can't find anything on it at all. |

Subject: RE: BS: big money from the LEFT? wow! From: GUEST,pdc Date: 12 Nov 03 - 01:02 AM Sorry -- I forgot that I received a previous link to MJ-12, and followed it up. It's all about a military-WhiteHouse coverup of alien spacecraft, etc. I think we should welcome them, if they show up again -- couldn't be worse than Bush. |
