I've read that "Pixie" is one of Australia's top fiddlers. My question is. Does Australian fiddling differ from Canadian fiddling from the Maritimes? Or can you but a comparison to it like Irish, Scotish, New Endland and so on?

Pixie had a clip on the ABC playing his 5 string fiddle a few years back. Was played as a "fill" - where Commercial TV stations whould have ben running ads.

Pixie will be performing in concert with John Williamson and Warren Williams on Feb. 3rd in Laguna Beach, California, and on Feb. 7th in Springfield, Missouri. This should be a killer concert!!!!

I have tried playing my fiddle standing on my head, Australian style, it isnt easy, and it hurts!!

You need to develope a completely different bowing technique to compensate for the "reverse gravity effect" and it buggers up any chance of playing in the Northern Hemisphere with any degree of sympathy. :-(

Australian fiddling is about the same as English fiddling except you make a few dollars instead of pounds.
